It's a massive clusterfuck, and the GD Marie Ågren is still getting her full salary even though she was fired six months ago. Hopefully Anna Johansson get fired though since she's completely incompetent and only has her position because of who her father was.

Well, to be fair being soulless gråsosse have worked enormously better than being fringe left wing so why give up a winning concept ?
The question is how many ministers will go? Johansson is given, maybe Ygeman, possibly Hultqvist.

If the opposition was smart, they would use this and other examples as a way of saying S is only after power. That would of course require them to be smart.

It comes down to whether you seek power for the sake of power or if you have an actual desire to effect social change. The winning concept for a long time has been to use triangulation to find the sweet spot where you can maximise votes and tactically weaken opponents, usually at the cost of adopting their policies. It worked for M under Fredrik Reinfeldt and, as the pendulum swung back, for S under Löfvén, albeit not as convincingly. But S are mostly happy to jettison old ideas about social democracy as long as it means retaining centrist voters. As long as they get to be nominally on top they don't mind having half their policies sounding like they're out of (nya) M's playbook.

Staying in power is the main game for politicians and that means catering to the public. S have the best track record on this than basically every other Democratic Party.
All politicians are populists and pragmatists in varying degrees, except the idealists and those are the ones one should be worry about.
The issue with S has more to do with S internal politics, where the internal game in S often seems to trump reality. Considering the recruitment issue in Swedish politics, we will continue to see this behavior in all parties.

You mean that being a soulless gråsosse has worked insofar that it has let them coast along on the achievements made when S was actually left wing?

This goes for all political parties anywhere, ever.

If you're think anyone is actually getting punished for this you are too naive. Johansson will at worst get reassigned to an equally cushy post within a token slap on the wrist and Ygeman has his nose so far up Löfven's rear end he can see out his belly button, so it's unlikely he's getting even an annoyed email.

Including the time when S was in a ruling coalition with C?
Or the time when S was part in the start of the institute for racial hygiene?
Or the fact that Sweden didn't have particularly high taxes prior to the 60s?
Also, which part of Palme?

S success story is based on being able to join together working class with the middle class along with having an economy that kept growing rapidly until the 70s, due to reasons having nothing to do with S (see Picketty).
It had very little to do with socialism and S downfall started in the 70s, when they verged to much to the left.
BTW, S have spent a whole lot of effort in keeping V down throughout their history.

I like how the term 'outsourcing' is being used instead of privatization when that is exactly what they did. Like the scandal is kinda eh to me but the decision that created the scandal in the first place speaks so much to the true colours of the people currently in charge of government.

The Netherlands are already basically doing that since 2002. The government followed by cutting mental-, addiction-, sick-care and pensions. Tired of being a burden to your family? Literally go kill yourself. We legalized suicide as a treatment option, yeee-haaw!
