They made her character get pregnant because the writers thought she needed a consequence. Then they had a garbage man break up with her. Then they had Frasier choose the shrill amoral hag over her. Then they made sure she ended up alone at the end of the show. The writers absolutely hated Roz. She was probably modeled off of one of their exes.

Yeah, she stands up for herself and makes fun of them for being stuffy just as much as they make fun of her, and she overall comes off as more confident in herself than either of them do, so in the end I'd say it evens out. Plus, isn't it consistent with her character that she'd end up "alone"? She seems fine with that, I don't think it's an unhappy ending.

While Frasier is getting agitated over some dumb poo poo every day Roz is just competently running the show, building her career, getting raises, and having fun while doing it. She's the smartest and most grounded character. They make a point several times that Frasier is useless at his 20 hour a week job without her.

The most representative thing of Frasier in Frasier, is any episode with Bebe in. You can really see how, for all his pomp and self-importance, Frasier responds ridiculously well to over the top pantomime and worship of his ego. I think all those episodes stand up really well, even though they are formulaic. Every single one is basically 'Frasier believes he can do better without Bebe for ethical/professional reasons, Frasier struggles without her, Bebe wins him back through subterfuge, ultimately proving his initial point correct' but rather than getting boring it just shows how stubborn and simplistic Frasier is that he would go through the same motions over and over without learning anything. Also the episode where she is trying to gently caress him is peak ham-acting Kelsey.

It doesn't help that Bebe is goddamn amazing. She is terrifying, irritating, and everyone secretly wishes they had a Bebe backing them up.

Bebe and Frasier gently caress and then she gets him a raise by faking her suicide. The woman is a total pro.
