Interplanetario is this weekend, basically CB's version of LnL. They had a presentation with a bunch of renders and art kinda like LnL. Said release schedule is also from there. You can find phone pics on the WGC Infinity FB group.

I had actually been looking at the Muyib box last I was in my FLGS, is it expected to be new sculpts to replace the current Muyib box? Also nice to see the Hassassin redo, I'll probably pick it up since I could use some more Daylami and currently have only one Farzan / don't have an Ayyar.

Pretty sure they got rid of them because the Caskuda was super rad. 2W Airborne Deployment models have become a relatively rare feature, and most of them have like, ARM 1 or 2 initially. This is because you can choose to land wherever you want, which makes it easy to land somewhere with 1 ARO, soak a wound, and just ruin the other guy's life by murdering everyone from behind. The Caskuda was an ARM8, 3W AD model with PH17 (PH20 with an EVO/Assisted Jump). It was ridiculously overpowered.

Don't forget the part where it did explosion damage to everything in the drop template, had preposterously good weaponry, and cost about the same as a Sphinx. I miss Caskuda bombing people, but that thing was broken as heeeell. I never got on with the rest of the exrah, they always seemed to eat a crit and be a waste of points at the first opportunity when I fielded them. Plus, outside the Caskuda, they looked like poo poo. I'm honestly a fan of the way they wrote them out, it leaves the door open for them to give them another shot in the future and can at least be used to help soothe my rage over Hector having a plasma rifle for some loving reason. Here's hoping we get a CA-reprogrammed Odysseus model at some point in the next couple years.

I wonder how that happened. In my meta, MO is like the weakest, most miserable thing. Usually the knights don't even manage to do anything, let alone have any orders left over to score objectives.

A good player is all the variance you need sometimes, but also the Interplanetary missions were very kill-focused missions, where MO does well.

Order Sergeants and Joan are the real reason to play MO from what I can tell.

Edit: Was this the tournament that determines who gets ALIVE? I was really hoping they'd get sepsidored by CA, but I suppose PanO could use a decent hacker.

MO probably makes the best use of a cheap irregular hacker, so good for them actually having a chance to get it.

I keep wondering if ALIVE's primary purpose was to get as many people using the hacking and holoprojector rules as possible to find out where those rules breakdown and fail prior to the next book where they can be revamped if necessary.

I think so, tbh there are plenty of poo poo to do not counting a merc hacker team so I don't think anyone has really wanted them to do them sooner you know?

The holoechoes rule does a good job of baffling the poo poo out of people already, there's so much stuff attached to it and a lot of people don't realise. It's a wicked fun rule though.

I find making recon lists really difficult because you never have enough points to make a well rounded force. Last night I played two matches of Recon's Frontline with Onyx (first time playing them) and took the following:

Onyx RECON! (No Hacking)
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

6
RODOK Lieutenant Combi Rifle, 2 Light Shotguns / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 26)
RODOK Combi Rifle, 2 Light Shotguns / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
RODOK Paramedic (MediKit) Boarding Shotgun, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
XEODRON Red Fury, Blitzen / Heavy Pistol. (1 | 59)
STALDRON Flash Pulse / Knife. (0 | 0)
IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9)

I did really well, going 10-0 against Neoterra and 4-1 against Corregidor, but I didn't feel like I had any good answers to a Gecko parked halfway up the field in suppressive fire.

Going second really hurt because I lacked any decent passive AROs, which wouldn't have been as much of an issue if I had the tools to dislodge the aforementioned Gecko.

Mines are amazing in Recon due to the size of the map. It is nearly impossible for your opponent to avoid them. I'd consider a minelayer Naga depending on the mission.

What mission are you playing, by the way? You don't need any specialists for a number of them, so that is a huge consideration for list building.

From what I've gathered they've basically tightened up the rules for really low point play. You more or less Play on half a board so density wise the game plays choose to a full 300 pointer. The group here is doing it so noobies like me can get familiar with the rules without being overwhelmed.

I think it works to be honest, and it has the side effect of needing half as many tables to get games going

It's a pretty good option for newer players, and for folks who've got more experience it can be a fun option for a bunch of quick little games if you're getting bored of ITS.

I really enjoy recon, but it changes list building heavily. If you're not prepared for everything being in 24" you'll have a bad day.

It makes for quick, sharp little games and you can comfortably squeeze 3 into an afternoon.

Another good option for quick games that still have punch is 200pt limited insertion. You can run a 3 round tourney of that in 6-7 hours really comfortably, meaning everyone goes home feeling good (not exhausted as buggery) and it just squeezes in around normal weekend stuff.

I painted some dudes for friends. I grabbed an Onyx box while it was on sale, and I'm kinda thinking I might actually paint it myself at this stage. That black metallic looks like a cool color to start from. Do something similar for the drones, flat black and camo for the morats, mix metallic and flat for the Umbra, mebbe.

Painting Aleph is a colossal pain, though. Like I needed an excuse to hate Aleph more.
