I wouldn't have minded the scene without any other changes if it was like half as long, because it really did hit the exact spot where "yeah I get it" kicked in for me. Just personal preference though.

Yeah, it goes on from 36:33 - 47:13 in the episode.
That's 10:40 mins worth of a scene where it's pretty much just cutting back and forth between like 2 shots (of a boring conversation about people we don't know or care about). Then tack on the disappointment that the scene features the reveal a fan-favorite character that we've all been waiting to see.

I think the thing that annoyed me most with that scene is that it feels way off for Audrey. Even with the brief bits we see other returning characters, they generally seem to be similar or at least plausible extensions in character from where we saw them last. Audrey just didn't seem like Audrey to me. But I suppose she did get blown up and was in a coma for a while.

Audrey was a weird manipulative person who didn't really care about too many people's feelings in the original series, also.

I liked the episode, but it definitely felt like a bridge episode. I think things are gonna get weird next week. But if I'm wrong, that's good - one of the things I like most about this season is that I never know where it's going next.

I have to admit, I squealed at the mention of Chet Desmond.

Sarah Palmer creeped the hell out of me, especially in the scene at her house. That thing with the teeth felt very Bob-esque.

At some point she decided she'd had enough with all the Twin Peaks-y poo poo and went off to star in her own spinoff/soap opera (even though she still actually lives in Twin Peaks).

It really felt like a random scene from some other soap. You have no idea who half the characters are, they talk about things you don't understand or care about, and then it ends without you figuring out any of it.

Diane's finger gun scared the hell out of me for some reason. It was so threatening, I kind of expected someone (aka Tammy) to actually get shot. :ohdear:

I thought the man Audrey was talking to looked a lot like the man in the photo with Booper and the glass box: shaved balding head, glasses with thin frames. All that was missing was the jacket from the photo, and the scene in this episode made a point of him needing to get his jacket. Maybe legs under that desk, shown moving. That last one im not sure of.

Loved the episode, I hurt my face I laughed so much. I genuinely don't know if I enjoyed Gordon's date making her slow exit from the room or Audrey and her husband's lengthy argument more. His exasperated,"I have a deadline!" and,"I'm soooo sleepy" absolutely killed me.

On other things, I think there might be something to the idea that the woman's slow exit was similar to (I want to say) Lil's coded movements. Gordon even gave a similar little piece at the end to Albert giving contexts (like: she's my sister's cousins...whatever it was in fwwm that was about the Deer Meadow Sheriff's brother).

This was also, thus far, the "Blue Rose" episode.

Did anyone else notice the contrast between Diane coming to the FBI-trio from between the red curtains, and Albert later standing in front of brown curtains? I first thought they might have even been in the same room, but thinking about it more I realized that it was a different room, just with a similar set of curtains. Diane stepping in from between red curtains probably means more than the Albert-thing, but I thought it was a cool little thing to notice.

idk man, last we saw Audrey, she had just slipped Billy Zane her v card and he peaced out, got caught in an explosion and was in a coma for a while, then got pregnant at some point around that time, b/c I bet Richard is in his mid twenties. Life has not been super kind to her, and also her family is dysfunctional as hell. Besides, she was always impulsive and kind of selfish. Sure she has a heart of gold, but really Coop just brought out the best in her. I mean, she is a Horne after all.

Anyway Fenn looking goooood. Best she has in years tbh, no shade. I mean she's probably cinched, but if you compare it to her stint on Shameless last year, big difference. And fwiw I think Fenn is gorgeous no matter her weight, but with Audrey being such an iconic sexpot my gay rear end couldn't help being curious how she would approach returning to the role.

I like what they did with Audrey, I'm excited to see where it goes. I'm curious about the circumstances of her marriage, not because her husband is a little person, but because he alluded to some contract they have, and didn't seem overly bothered with hearing she's loving this Billy dude.

Overall great episode, imo. I like the tone Frost and Lynch have been setting, and it's clear they're building toward most if not all of the pieces crossing paths. Things are pointing toward Twin Peaks, where Truman now has the hotel key. But tbh, who knows? And that's the best part.

You know who I realized Diane really reminds me of? That character in your party in an RPG (well, usually a JRPG probably) who joins your party somewhat randomly in the middle of a dungeon. They look like any normal character, you can equip stuff on them, and they fight on your side for maybe part of that one dungeon or maybe half the game. But you always know SOMETHING isn't right with this character, they say odd things and seem out-of-step with the rest of the group.

And then, at the worst moment possible they betray you to the Big Bad and reveal they were either under his control or have been working for the bad guys all along. Diane is that character to the Gordon/Albert/Tammi team.

Also, anyone notice the use of the REALLY creepy bit of backwards-sounding music from FWWM in the Sarah Palmer scene in the grocery store? I remember Lynch using that at really key, TERRIFYING moments in FWWM and it would usually portend the appearance of something truly scary. It is used when Sam Stanley finds the very first paper letter under Teresa Banks' finger. It's used when the strange woman walks into the trailer with Carl, Desmond, and Stanley as well, I think. I believe it is used when Laura meets Mrs. Tremond and her (masked) son, and is told about BOB being in her room. ("The man behind the mask is going to the place where it's hidden. He's under the fan now.") I could be wrong about that one, though. But it's a REALLY distinctive and frightening musical cue and I was scared just hearing it.

Nah I mentioned it a few posts ago.
It was used in the moments in FWwM that showcased supernatural beings or otherworldly locations. The fact that we can associate it so strongly with these scenes is really great, it's such a textured sound, really fills you with the sense of malaise that you'd expect from actual experiences like that.
