No Friend of Gravity posted:How exactly does that work? Bills can become law without the President's signature or a veto override? It gets returned to Congress to become law after ten days. If Congress is not in session at the time, it's called a "pocket veto", because it gets thrown in the trash instead. I think that's how things work.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) have both argued against party litmus tests, saying there’s room for people with different opinions on abortion. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), another influential voice, has echoed that argument. oh not Bernie too !!?

gettin mighty suck zone up in here https://twitter.com/NRO/status/891637763963006976 Trump is the political version of a pickup artist, and Republicans — and America — went to bed with him convinced that he was something other than what he is. Trump inherited his fortune but describes himself as though he were a self-made man. national review admits that trump has hosed america

https://twitter.com/WestWingReport/status/892037576181370880 This reminds me of the campaign. Jeb promised his tax cuts would lead to 4% growth. Huckabee said his Fair Tax would lead to 6% growth. At the time, I joked Trump was promising growth expressed in scientific notation. But now... Sad!

I think that's how things work. I read a little about this and it looks like pocket veto is unlikely because congress is allowed to appoint a clerk to receive the bill in case they've adjourned, and this is routinely done while they're on vacation.

What's the big thing with 'litmus tests' anyway? Litmus tests are important, they're the difference between getting eaten alive by a caustic substance or not.
