Yeah this has the vague scent of competence and the bumbling incompetence of Trump's clown car cabinet has been protecting the country from the worst of his ideas.

That's what Chief of Staff is supposed to be, making sure that the White House staff are doing their jobs competently. The Mooch obviously wasn't doing so.

Kelly having such control and authority from Trump is going to piss off the other factions in the WH, and eventually Trump. The worst case scenario would have been Kelly becoming a likeable Priebus.

Getting Kelly in as Chief of Staff may actually strengthen the Trump Administration in the long run. By all accounts, he seems to be competent, and Trump doesn't hate him and take every opportunity to belittle him like he did Reince.

The important nuggets:

Natalia Veselnitskaya was the Russian lawyer that at the Trump Jr. meeting that they claimed had "no connection to the Russian Government."

Also, in the Trump meeting.

A crazy story about the Russian lawyer that Trump Jr and crew met with and a Russian businessman that Trump worked with setting up a fake documentary funded by the Russian government and inviting American lawmakers, lobbyists, and government officials to premier with no disclosure that the Russian government funded and wrote it.

This happened last summer and was previously undisclosed.

Holy poo poo what an info dump. Thanks for the link. I knew about some of it after digging into Magnitsky but this is just wayyyyyy more. :stare:

This is a good point, and I shouldn't have oversimplified. I agree strongly that change needs to start with how we educate our citizens, too. But I think the UK government does a pretty good job of simplifying their communications so that nearly anybody can understand them. I don't think it's insurmountable.

As a newly self-employed man I had to fill out my own UK tax return for the first time in 25 years last year (previously was salaried employee so taxs were deducted automatically). It was fine. Took me a couple of hours to methodically work through and double check everything, but really not that much of a hassle.
