let's talk about the mistreatment of in-betweeners that stems from an industry view of it being a profession that exists purely to catapult animators to higher positions and that any animator that sticks with it is dead weight that needs to be shaken off

She's a ghost because when it came time for her and Futo to transfer their souls into objects for storage, Futo gave her a lovely jar as a soul receptacle on purpose (Because she was mad that Tojiko's clan btfo of Futo's clan). It broke and so now she's a ghost, though she doesn't really mind and hangs out with Futo anyway.

Tojiko was BETRAYED and now she's DEAD and she's kept bound to this world as a ghost by her feelings of VENGEANCE and RAGE. But she's pretty chill all-around.
