I assume with long enough hair, it just becomes aerodynamic like those Tour de France helmets.

This thing came from the US so I hold y'all personally responsible. The only part that's been altered is the exhaust so as to meet local noise standards. Not pictured: front brake is a cable that goes to an MC under the tank which goes to the conventional front caliper. Rear taillight is in the shape of a hand grenade. The gold stuff on the triples etc is that stuff aero engine builders paint poo poo with to stop corrosion. The 'builder' was an aircraft engineer

I keep looking for other signs that it's been crashed and the triple clamps have been smashed or the forks have been bent.

GnarlyCharlie4u posted:I like that backpack. What is it? It doesn't seem to be in their current lineup. Alpinestars Charger. It's probably four years old at this point with 25-30k miles on the odometer and besides being dingy from weather wear, it's held up great and still functions like it was brand new. I love it and use it quite a bit, including off the bike. I'm not sure if they still offer it, but considering how often A* rotates their items out of inventory, I would not doubt it being discontinued. I'll look later to see if they offer something comparable if that is the case. EDIT: This is the exact bag I ordered way back when: https://www.revzilla.com/product/alpinestars-charger-backpack-2009. Looks like the Tech Aero is probably the closest thing they currently offer, but its a lot more expensive: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-tech-aero-backpack. I tried doing some cursory searches on google to see if anyone still had it listed in stock but I didn't have any luck. If you can find one I would recommend it, even for the original price. The only downside this bag has at all is that it's not water proof (the zipper seams are sealed though, so that is nice). I keep a drybag in the event I get stuck in any downpours. tjones fucked around with this message at 00:12 on Jul 28, 2017 |

Sagebrush posted:Yeah this is my feeling as well. I know that "run what ya brung" is a big part of the Nurburgring's thing but allowing bikes and cars on the same track -- let alone a serious racer on an S1000 alongside a bunch of tourists in lovely little VWs and stuff -- seems monumentally stupid. Sorry, I know this is from a while back, but it had me thinking and if there was mention of it in the thread, I didn't catch that. The rider in the vid has a note saying "use your drat mirrors", but looking at it I got the impression he was trying to make it 3 wide while the blue car was passing someone slower (after just being passed by the red car which would have impeded their rearward vision and left a fairly short window to gauge the speed of anyone else approaching). Granted, the guy on the bike was much faster around the track, but it looked like he went into a pretty crowded situation expecting that space would be made (or maintained). Is the blue car in the wrong for moving over and closing the door, or is the biker in the wrong for trying to overtake someone who was already in the middle of an overtake? Or were they both a little bit wrong?
