hello friends

I just finished listening to crime and punishment, and when looking in the wiki article on it cause i had no idea what any of the names actually were cause i dont speak russian i found an amazing fact, which is, that the creators of Columbo claim that columbo was based on Porfiry ! ! ! reading the scenes with porfiry and rodion was indeed like watching an episode of columbo, but from the criminal's point of view, and were my favorite parts of that super great book.

i posted this here because i coudln't think of anyone else who would care.

hope you all are well,

good day

I always found that part in the book where the statue comes to life just as the dude kills himself to be really weird.

I'd been happy, and I was happy still. For all to be accomplished,
for me to feel less lonely,
all that remained to hope
was that on the day of my execution
there should be a huge crowd of spectators and that they should
greet me with howls of execration.

That's one of my favorite books. The part where the mare gets whipped to death in Raskolnikov's dream really stuck with me.

Having read both The Stranger and The Plague, I liked both, but felt The Stranger is much superior. The Fall is EVEN BETTER Camus. The Fall is loving amaaaaazing.

Here's a great Mafia-relevent quote:

“Men are never convinced of your reasons, of your sincerity, of the seriousness of your sufferings, except by your death. So long as you are alive, your case is doubtful; you have a right only to their skepticism.”

It's pretty uneven, but fairly regularly it makes me start stifling laughter at the gym which is pretty awkward.

Quantum Leap

the latter is probably the worst moderating experience i've ever had. it's kind of a like a battlestar version of mafia. i think it's a cool concept but it requires a lot of work on the part of the moderation team, i'd love to see someone do something cool with it.
