Gay marriage is a HUGE issue in Australia right now. All the polls say that the population is overwhelmingly in favour of it but the current conservative/right wing government are doing everything in their power to stop it coming up for an open vote in parliament and are desperately trying to play down the issue and many people are getting incredibly frustrated with them. I do love how the host basically told him to gently caress off. Still it's frustrating because the Liberals will find any way to spin this as Labors fault. Hell, the Liberals were outraged about the fact that the Labor party didn't even want to bother with attempting a referendum for gay marriage because a) a referendum is just asking the public if it's cool and b) it's a waste of money to do so when the greater Australian population supports marriage equality.

By the way, that politician is gay. Labor (the central/left party) had the chance to do it and baulked as well (since they rather be populist than lead) and even had their token gay politician come out and be non-supportive of it. Schadenfreude is on Australia, US so far has only had a little bit of Trump, we have had Trump style politics for decades. At least we have universal health care.

A Steadicam roughly works by countering the downward weight with a giant spring arm. You have to slowly build up the camera gear onto the unit and spin it to get perfect equilibrium else it will go floaty and translate your movements into momentum. A bit of Google searching would have found one made for DSLRs and half the price. I mostly shot with a monopod with handles and focus ring as it made for quick setups and mobility. Oh and the same crew later found out that the standard plastic cases for a go-pro wasn't water proof after attaching it to an anchor.
