There's also some talk about switching out the occasional model here or there. For example, the Ork Start Collecting box has a painboy which isn't an HQ choice so they'll probably switch it out so the box is a valid force.

WD is pretty poo poo at promoting video games, Dawn of War III, which was kind of a big deal release, got like one page. They were looking to hire Specialist Games folks a while back, so I could see Necromunda coming back, with Shadow War either being a way to gauge interest or fill an emtpy slot in the release schedule. As for that image of the skull aquila, I have no clue what it means but it looks cool. Doubt that's Necromunda related though, there's not much in the way of explicitly Imperial imagery there.

could be Armageddon related? That would combine most (?) of the things in the video: heavy industry sounds, orks, and the imperium. Ideally, it's a teaser Codex Ork Mercenaries, and that's the badge the orcs wear.

Is starting a Guard army a fool's errand? I'm on the verge of buying back in to 8th (after selling everything a few years ago) and IG are calling my name. And Tau to a lesser degree.

The big issue with marines generally and primaris in particular is that they are elite armies in an edition that thus far seems to slightly favor hordes. While I can't speak for tournament play, in casual play things feel relatively balanced to me. I've thus far played Orks, Necrons and other another marine army as my Blood Angels and each matchup has felt pretty close.

Having played like 6-7 games with a mostly primaris army against largely WAAC bastards the lack of anti armour really is the big problem. Stuff having massively long range helps a lot with the limited mobility and I've only had 1-2 games where their melee capability didnt become relevant. hopefully a repulsor and remembering to bring aux grenade launchers next time will help a bit but honestly I need krak melta and las to solve things. I managed to take 12 wounds off a land raider on turn one through my librarian smite spamming and overcharging hellblasters in the captains aura but they're both somewhat squishy.

After digging out my old 1k of Necrons...dammit, I'm back on the Egyptian Terminator Wagon. Rolling for RP every single turn is absolutely brutal. 20 warriors and a cryptek just cannot be shifted unless you direct all your fire at them.

Primaris aren't that bad, especially if you mix them with small marines. Even the intercessors have a point. Why? They are bigger. I have found that if I am aggressive with my Primaris, they draw more fire than my more useful squat marines. Which is pretty drat useful.
