I just haven't seen anything that makes me want to get F7 on a regular xbone when I have F6 and the Porsche expansion. I'll probably get it eventually, just not for $60.

well i am definitely buying 7 at launch. its kind of a big deal that this is finally coming to pc and i want to support that even if i dont buy a top trim day 1 season pass dlc for double the price of base game or whatever also @Lexus - the real shame here is that we won't have any SC 300s it would have also been cute to see the LC 500 in game as well but gently caress a 10 speed automatic when we can rep Japanomerican luxury with the superior Infiniti Q69 and its dadmode daily paddle shifters also the regular Nissan lineup is pretty much as fleshed out as it gets which is where a large portion of Forza style unnecessary engine swaps exist irl so it ain't as bad as it could be

GentlemanofLeisure posted:All I really want is for them to let us make paints on the pc without using their shape library. I hope so too... but all the vectors are modeled into the game. That means that every free form design would have to be added to the game's modeling engine as well. Updating every console with an update every time you add a line isn't really possible on Xbox. For iRacing, I think Trading Paints handles most of this, but I don't know what their livery editor is like.

Iracing downloads a TGA file for every car in the session. I would have to assume that Forza is doing the same thing with some image format. People get really crazy with their designs and it seems like it would be a big waste of resources for every car to build its entire livery every time.

I don't think they are going to put added features for the PC version that won't be in the Xbox version tbh, hoping for that seems like a bad idea.

There's no way they could ever allow custom liveries made on PC go to xbox. That would be a parental controls nightmare. It would be nice if the PC version could have a checkbox that allows for custom liveries. Though, it would just end with infinite goatses, so what's the point.

What I'm hoping for is a way to map the wheel properly. If I could have manual with clutch along with look left / right I'd be really happy. I've never used Manual w/ Clutch because I always preferred to be able to look left/right. I decided to switch layouts and use the clutch and well, holy poo poo. I should have done this long ago (I did with game pad years ago). So bigger question: Do any of the racing wheels have clutch & shift paddles?

Not clutch paddles, clutches are always on the pedals. Do have shift paddles though.

It was added to backwards compatibility then a couple weeks later licenses expired so it was removed from the Xbox live stores on all platforms. But when it was added to backwards compatibility it was also available as one of the free games with gold games. So in a very short window you could get it for free. It surprisingly had wheel support on the xbone too.

I saw some random Youtube video where the guys were talking about the devs saying stuff about making the cars look good in 4k and it almostmade it sound like they were re-modeling some of the notorious old versions of cars that have made it from the first couple games through the series mostly untouched. Any word on that?

A little nugget from the article: "Consider two fan favorites: the 2017 Ford GT and the Subaru Impreza 22B STi, both of which feature fully modeled engines in Forzavista for the first time in Forza Motorsport 7. Two years ago, the GT debuted in the Forza franchise before it was even completed in the real world. For Forza Motorsport 7, the team at Turn 10 returned to Ford Performance’s masterpiece for another round of sourcing, this time with a focus on capturing all the magic of the Ford GT’s Eco-Boost engine and its intricate components. For the Subaru Impreza 22B, the team travelled halfway across the world to source a completely original car – including all factory stickers and zero modifications – giving players a rare glimpse at this beloved Subie." Did...did they redo the 22B?

Oh yeah, forgot to do the thing yesterday. Only one Forza related sale this week from the 9th to the 14th. Not sure if anyone even still pays attention to these.
Guessing that means they're also updating the Ford GT to be the final production model and not the concept version they've been using.

Now I'm more interested in getting F7.

L_Harrison posted:Did...did they redo the 22B? This almost makes up for the missing MR2/Supra/AE86/LFA/LC500 issue. The real sad part is that I just got back into Forza with FH3 after not having an Xbox one and not really having touched a Forza game since 4. Horizon was fun, but I miss the handling models from normal Forza. Also FH3 doesn't have an MR2 either. Or a Fiero. The only cheapo mid engine car in the entire game is the Fiat X1/9. Which is a crime.

How does F7 look when compared to Project Cars 2? I played F6 and bit PC1, but I'm not good enough to be able to admire PC's reported realism, aside from noticing it drives different and is probably harder. I like Forza's large selection of cars and accessibility, and the way it handles, compared to, say, GT, but if PC2 is as realistic as it's reported, and it comes with a great online league, as it seems it will, maybe it's worth getting into that?

If you like the car collecting aspect of Forza there are going to be 700 cars (with an emphasis on road going cars) in Forza 7 plus more available as DLC over the next year and a half. pCars 2 is only going to have something like 150-200 cars (with an emphasis on racing cars) If you just value the racing, they are probably going to be equal there. If you are using a controller, just get Forza. If you are using a wheel, either one will be good. If you are using VR, Forza doesn't have VR so that might factor into your decision. Or do like me and just get both.
