In the Comic Book Videogame thread the most recent post is about the cancelled Daredevil videogame and the developer was told to put in a grind mechanic because of the popularity of Tony Hawk games around the time.

huge, if you're playing a couple hours a day it will take you months most likely

base game is ~100 hours, DLCs together are another 50ish

so, depending on how completionist you are, probably 120-150+ hours for a full playthrough

A tip regarding Skellige, if you aren't hurting for money, you can ignore almost all the point of interests that are in the water, they're just loot. Get your potions and bomb recipes up to superior and all that will be in there will be junk you sell.

I like Wolven but man the clipping through the collar is constantly annoying. I tried Cat armour for about a second before getting rid of all of it because I knew the clipping with the hood was going to look ridiculous.

There is a simple mod to keep the hood down IIRC.

I don't like how Cat looks at higher levels though.

shit wizard dad

I watched the Guy Ritchie 'King Arthur' the other night and it had a bit of a Witcher-y vibe; 'low fantasy', a grimy city setting, a sorceress, a mad king, magic swords, a destiny quest, big rear end bad guys with big swords at the end. If you're stuck for entertainment you might dig it.

Finally came across that tough elf fight I kept hearing about. As the quest started I recognized Extreme Cosplay as a name I remembered seeing in this thread a lot but couldn't remember why until the statues transformed and I died about five seconds later.

The fight didn't end up being that hard because I was buffed more than I ever have been at any other point in the game. I had Euphoria as my mutation and my Toxicity bar was at around 95% because of Troll, Tawny, Thunderbolt, Petri, Blizzard, and maybe something else. Plus the perma-buffs from a grindstone and armourer's table. And with Explosive Shield Quen up and liberal use of grenades the fight was pretty easy.

The actual hardest quests in the game are the few escort or protect missions when you are playing with level scaling on.

Are you abusing the liberal gently caress out of her roll and dodging? I played on Death March and found everything with her pretty easy and fun. Swing, appear at another place, swing, appear someone else, swing, etc. I almost think that is how she is intended to be played.

Absolutely, that's what I ended up doing, basically hit and run. Got it done, it was just very time consuming and had little margin for error. I've breezed through everything else (djinn included), so this fight stood out to me.

When only Geralt is at risk of dying, it's not so bad. When some dumbass Ai runs ahead and gets one shotted by a rotfiend, it is frustrating.

To be fair, that's also how fast attack Geralt works most of the game. Or Geralt in Witcher 2, for that matter.
Any game where a dodge doesn't cost stamina is meant to be played like that.
