I'm confident in my ability to find a 12th forward suitable for my 4th line, so I'm going to choose my back-up goalie now. I considered a few guys. There were 3 main ones. I wanted a goalie young enough that they were still growing, but ready enough such that they could take over for Talbot in a couple of years. At worst they end up as a back-up and I draft a cool goalie in the NHL entry draft so whatever. So I was very torn by this pick. But in the end I decided to go with a homer pick. I've seen this guy play in the WHL, I like his style of play. I think he can play in the NHL right now and will be a starter for a non-Pens team soon. I actually like him as a 6th/7th D and he was on my short list with Koekkoek and like 3 or 4 other guys I was really hoping be would sneak though the draft so I could pretend he was my 7th D when I have no scratches because I used them all on prospects
