Sonics biggest weakness was trying to make it work in 3D. It's gameplay just doesn't translate over well and hopefully after Mania sega will realize this and we won't get more garbage 3D Sonics

The people who are complaining the most about the controllers are rolling on the d-pad instead of precisely pressing the buttons (while complaining about precision, mind you).
