Yeah, they really are pretty half-hearted... but I'd be rushing them the gently caress off my desk too if I got stuck with the job. Probably would have tried hard on the first couple, then looked through the source material, marveled at the insincerity/douchiness/petulance of it, and then set a time limit for each.

My goodness, just listening to Walker and Brundle (it was Brundle's first year in the commentary box) again took me right back. While there's obviously a lot of nostalgia there, I think the racing definitely had something it doesn't now. For starters Irvine would have been by in the first straight nowadays.

Love that video. It's true we wouldn't get that in the DRS era, the issue is that without the DRS what we'd get is Mansell / Patrese 2 seconds behind Senna and unable to close the gap because of dirty air.

There must be some way to turn F1 back into an engine Formula while keeping the sweet hybrid gadgets and efficiencies of the current era.

The word is right now that they're going to move to hybrid, twin-turbo V6s for the next formula without MGU-Hs.

That's his 15 year old son next to him and he was crying cause he was full of pride that his kid was able to really drive that stock car they were in really well.

quote:

As for what Barrichello says to his son at the end, a Reddit user who presumably understands Portuguese much better than YouTube offered up this translation:

“Man, I have never felt so emotional in my life, swear to God. Congratulations, f*****g hell. I never thought that when I gave your kart when you were six you would want to do this. Man, if I was not wearing a seatbelt I would have been thrown out of the car. I don't know if you will win something, but you do drive like hell. Thank you very much, I have never had a day like this, swear to God. Don't know where to start.”

That pretty much says it all.

The joke is also that Rubens is a highly emotional man who cries if, say, a grasshopper was hiding out on your cars side mirror and only came out when you drove into the car wash and you watch the grasshopper get pulverized by the high pressure jets. That last bit was me. I cried.
