Not quite a Casino, but Studiopolis is this game's version of Casino Nights Zone.

That said, Mirage Saloon Zone Act 2 has a couple of brief pinball elements.

PSA for those using Apple USB-C chargers: don't, at least the 61W and 87W models.

NathanK, an often quoted hardware hacker delving into USB-C protocols, has cited that both can cause issues.

The 61W adapter can sometimes give you an error screen that says 'use the original adapter that came with your Switch, idiot.'
The 87W adapter can crash out both your Switch and dock.

Also, Nintendo's brick is only $29, it's safest to stick with that.

I can personally confirm that the Apple 29W seems to be okay, but sometimes on rare occasions, the joycons act as if they were never charged. Doesn't happen with Nintendo's adapter. Could just be my Switch..

Max stamina first.

Using bombs liberally in beginning can really help mitigate weapon durability woes.

Before you go nuts with exploring, try to progress the main quest to at least Hateno village. If you`re super keen, going to the Ruto village and completing the main quest there will also greatly facilitate exploration.

In Hateno village, buy a house and fully upgrade it. (sidequest initiation spoilers, probably best sidequest in the game)

I never really got the point of sonic. I watched the giant bomb quicklook and the levels are just so busy. I played whatever sonic was on the game gear 20 years ago and never got very far because I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing. At least in Mario, the point is to go to the right and get to the castle.

I don't disagree that old platformers have flaws worth examining, but this is the dumbest reasoning. In Sonic you also go right to hit the signposts/capsules. The genesis games have more freedom in their paths, and sometimes have little sections where you go to the left for a couple of seconds, but they ultimately all go to the right. Mania's levels aren't that much different.

Also lol @ judging only from the game gear sonics. It's like if the only Mario game you played was SML; it's an okay game but nothing compared to what most people like about SMB3/SMW.

You can go anywhere you want in whatever order you want. Most challenges in the game have multiple solutions so don't be afraid to experiment. Play around with cooking because it's extremely easy to do, materials for it are everywhere, and the game labels what's used for food or elixirs in descriptions of the materials.

I think having 6 or 7 hearts is much more important, since nothing will hit you much harder than that but a lot of enemies will straight up one-hit you if you have 3-4 hearts. Hell, some enemies in the starter plateau hit you for 3+ hearts.

Max stamina first, and just buy some better armor (and make food) for hearts early on. One of the towers overlooks small area where you can collect a dozen or so durians per visit and a couple of them cooked together gives plenty of heart buffer.

Yeah, this coupled with being a pansy bitch meant not having that many hearts initially wasn't that bad. I kinda enjoyed it as this game has a kind of weird difficulty curve where it goes from "difficult" to "baby time frolics" the second you start upgrading hearts and upgrading armour. So long as you can survive one hit, you can also just pause to the menu and shove ten apples down your gullet and you're fine.

I wouldn’t max all stamina but a 2nd stamina wheel lets you climb / explore A LOT more and having it early in the game means you can explore more freely.

Sure, and that's really all you need for ages health-wise. The full three rings of stamina is far more valuable than maxxed hearts considering you can just carry stacks of meat in your pants to heal with.

You don't need max stamina, you just need one extra circle's worth.
Get the 13 hearts for the Master Sword. A rechargeable weapon comes in handy so you don't have to wait for blood moons to refresh weapon/enemy spawns.

Even Link has better run and jump mechanics, and level design that isn't constructed to kill any momentum you build up beyond set piece loops and chained bumpers.

For as much as Sonic is about going fast, you don't really see him going that fast. When I watch clips, I see Sonic doing the slow walk and a jump more than him just running fast, barring those loops or whatever.

Echoing a few sentiments above: don't get tips, don't look anything up unless you're massively stumped and have nowhere else to go (there's always somewhere else to go), and just walk around doing whatever you want to do. That's the whole point of the game. If you see something interesting, go check it out.

One of my best experiences with BotW was setting out for something I noticed to the south, then two hours later realizing I was farther north of my starting point than I had intended to go south. I'd gone in a big spiral by following interesting distractions and never getting to my intended destination, having fun the whole time, and that was when I truly "got" this game.

Truth. Sonic might run faster, but Mario accelerates waay quicker off the line, brakes quicker, turns 180 faster, and the jumps don't turn to garbage when he's at speed.
