Greg Stanton has been in open rebellion against trump for quite some time. On the other hand, Mesa right next door is statistically the most conservative city in the country with >250k citizens, full stop. The Phoenix protest /counter-rallies tend to draw big numbers, and the one set up this morning for Tuesday's Trump rally is already at 1.4k going, 3.2k interested.

I somehow doubt this. Facism lives off the narrative of "we are tough men." Crying on camera just makes you look weak and destroys that image. MSNBC is mocking them on television calling them cowardly and weak. If they're plan is to do open violence next, especially considering how the police are now expecting it, it'd likely just look worse when they get stamped down and made to flee.

Assault with a deadly weapon? Yes. Attempted murder? Nope. Batons get you tased and/or sprayed by law enforcement, and they're readily droppable when you're ordered to, leaving you out $40-50 max. A gun is going to cost you $300 minimum for something that isn't a piece of poo poo like a Hi-Point, and because of that, you're going to be far less inclined to drop/lose/leave it if the situation calls for it, making it a further liability to you in a dangerous situation. Knives and guns get you shot, and if the setting is chaotic enough, it's as likely to earn you a bullet from an armed and panicked ally as a cop or Nazi. Best test for this is to see if that really was his phone number that he gave out. I agree that he seemed manic or something in that and the vice interview. I don't know that he's for real understand that he had participated in crime either: I can believe the contradiction in his words and actions would genuinely escape his notice rather than be part of some genius media manipulation. He is an idiot with no self-awareness in the vice thing too, just bold instead of cowardly.

For those of you considering and buying and using collapsible batons for self defense, keep in mind that any damage to the baton from striking something hard is likely to deform it, making it very hard to collapse and deploy said baton rapidly. I kept one on my boat for killing sharks caught while fishing and while it was undoubtedly more effective than a mag light (more range and using the mag light for this just broke the light) and pool cue handle (snapped after the second use) we kept on board for the same purpose, after each trip I would have to spend some time straightening it out so it would collapse and deploy easily. It now lives beside the driver's seat in my car for the handy window breaker on the bottom of the handle because deploying it means fighting for 20 minutes to collapse it again. Honestly, if I was looking for something to carry while demonstrating against nazis, I'd take the mag light. A classic metal body 4/5/6 D cell mag light is heavy enough to cause damage if used as a club and a flashlight is always a good thing to have when marching around at night! Its also legal to carry around and unlikely to be mistaken as a gun, particularly if you get it in a fab color. Just imagine how much more annoyed that nazi will be when you smack him with a pink mag light!. Elmnt80 fucked around with this message at 05:26 on Aug 17, 2017 |

Even if everyone propagated this crying video, they're all on rehosted youtubes, with no links back to whatever whatever channel it came from. Even if there was a hypothetical 'third act', most people wouldn't see it, and if they did, they wouldn't propagate it. Other White Supremicists might, but they're going to be put off by the behavior in this video. Also, in the Vice video, he's directly stating that he would not mind resorting to violence, and then brags about the number of guns he carries on his person (four), so a video of him saying 'We never resorted to violence' is not going to hold much water.

That Nazi with documented substance abuse problems (he's at least a very disturbed alcoholic according to himself and people who know him) MAY also be trying to get people to call him to find a new bunch of people to harass. Personally to me he sounds like long time alcoholics I've spoken with. I'd be surprised if he remembers filming this.

The light might survive a night of bashing the fash, but it won't last long being used to practice. I ruined my favorite 4 d cell mag being by dumb with it and hitting stuff. Also, do not store the light with batteries in it unless you will be using it soon. I've lost more than one maglite to leaking batteries.
