The whole "what about the civil war" is a distraction. It divide people in a "us vs them" so you don't notice the leader and their friends stealing everything from the government chest. Is the older trick in the book. Don't debate statues, debate money and people rights. Don't waste your time on removing a statue or protecting it, use your time to allow all USA citizens to vote the president they think will serve best. Use your time to get universal healthcare. Use your time so the lion share of your taxes get used to improve your country roads and schools, not to bomb foreign roads and schools.
