now before you accuse me of taking a wild hysterical leap from hormones to heroin let me assure you I am well aware of the massive differences, such as exactly which part of your brain ends up with no loving clue how much of a certain chemical it's supposed to produce, or which part of your body you inject it into, or how different the detrimental effects to your body are if you suddenly stop doing them and of course the circumstances which lead to their use are wildly different, obviously in one case it's "my broken brain tells me I need this drug to feel good" and in the other it's "my broken brain tells me I need this drug to look good"

Yeah, why would I want to have the hormone levels I had when I was in my 20s when I'm 40? That wouldn't improve your quality of life at all, right? Like with any drug, dosages matter. There's differences between TRT level doses and running tren. All I've seen you guys discuss are tren stories when most guys won't go near that stuff and posting pictures of people who hosed up their bodies that weren't even caused by steroids alone in the first place. I'll check out of this thread unless some actual medical professionals want to chime in on HRT.

Subjunctive posted:Are the people in the steroids thread doing this under the supervision of an endocrinologist, then? If not, why wouldn't they do that? The NHS is made up of Dr's who are of the opinion that if it isn't broke, don't try and fix it. The GP I went to was hilariously against testosterone to the point where she got a warning from the head GP for giving me absolutely terrible advice. She told me I should be grateful I was so thin and should enjoy long walks in the park and gardening instead of lifting weights and doing mma because it was healthier, so she wouldn't even consider testing my testosterone levels because the fact I even wanted to get big and strong meant mine were too high and I was already a danger to society. When I did get my bloodwork done I was healthy on all fronts so they wouldn't give me Testosterone, which is fair enough. I took my blood work results to Dr's who I work with, they said give Testosterone a go if your going to, just don't take anything else like Tren, so I did, got my bloods done once off and all agreed I was all healthy, but 40lbs heavier and much stronger.

So "no". I didn't ask about a GP, I asked about someone whose expertise with hormone effects might even, if they were at the top of their class, approach your own. Why wouldn't you want to work with one if hormone treatment is such an important part of your life?

All doctors are infallible that's why the phrase "a second opinion" is so rarely used Also all doctors hand out prescriptions with the utmost care and focus on the patient's true overall well-being, they are totally unrelated to both the ongoing opioid epidemic, and the fact that stimulants are so grossly overprescribed that there have been nationwide shortages of Adderall and poo poo

Kelp Me! posted:All doctors are infallible that's why the phrase "a second opinion" is so rarely used Slight derail but do we know why there were nationwide Adderall shortages? I thought the manufacturers created an artificial shortage to drive people to non-generics. https://www.thefix.com/content/pay-attention-adderall-add-big-pharma7004 And the manufacturers blamed the DEA, right? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/shortages-of-adderall-other-adhd-drugs-expected-in-2012-report/ I don't remember how this resolved.

Doctors over prescribing poo poo they maybe shouldn't is half the reason we have an opioid epidemic and also why antibiotic resistant strains of regular diseases will probably be reaping through our cities soon.
