Is Sue Blu still active? Her and Romano feel like they were in charge of the booth on literally every cartoon.

For some reason I got bored and decided to watch through parts of Flashpoint Paradox because I dunno, and I think ultimately what bothered me more than the unrelenting grimness and brutality of it all is... do they ever explain what Thawne/Reverse Flash's motivation is, like at all? He goes through all this effort to gently caress things up for Flash and it's like, why? The closest thing I could figure is him thinking Flash is a phony or gloryhound but it's like why fuckin single him out for that?

His motivation is "gently caress you Flash", so, I mean, that's about it yeah.

He doesn't go through much effort, that's the thing. Changing the timeline was all on Barry.

Isn't Paradox kind of a direct sequel to Rebirth (the original, not the new thing happening) where in Rebirth Barry comes to deal with the fact that it was a time traveling Thawne that murdered his mom?

Autism Sneaks

In the movie, it's not revealed until the end that his dead mom was what motivated him, or that it was him that changed time, though if you were keeping up with comics you probably knew it from the start. Thawne's motivation, as always seems to be the case, was to gently caress with Barry because Thawne just wants his greatest hero's attention. The way he accomplishes that is by becoming his greatest nemesis in new and inventive ways with a single-mindedness that would make Joker blush.

Fun fact Flash Rebirth was an in universe Retcon. Barry actually had a pretty happy life for his entire run before his death. His parents were alive and everything. Thawne then decided to gently caress with him by doing poo poo like erasing his child hood friend from existence, and murdering his mom and framing his dad.

Pre rebirth and Professor Zoom's new background. Thawne hated Barry cause he went back in time to meet his idol Barry Allen, but did not go back far enough and so came to the past after Barry's death. Were in the Flash Meusem he found out that he was became Barry greatest enemy (Thawne did not find out in the future cause Profeessor Zoom's real name had been lost.) and died at Barry's hands due to his evil after attempting to murder his wife and holding another person hostage. Which caused him to go crazy and decide to destroy the Flash in any form.

It's covered in the amazing storyline "The Return of Barry Allen" when Wally West was the Flash and still fairly fresh to the role. Pick it up if you can. Some of Mark Waid's best stuff, really helped cement Wally as the new Flash back in the day, and it's a real shame it got written out of continuity.

A lot of people apparently came out of the woodwork to bash him for his new fiance being too hot and then came out of the woodwork to critcize him--a widowed single father--for getting engaged "too soon."

So ya know there are a lot of assholes.

I guess that's the writers' cue to do a Norman/Peter version of The Great Brain Robbery!

Edit: Just watched Batman/Harley. It was... a lot funnier than I was expecting. I thought it was just going to be like some standard Batman vs Poison Ivy story but it actually leaned heavily on the humor, with a lot of funny reactions from Batman. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it's pretty okay. If I have one criticism, it's that some small segments go on a bit too long--speaking of which, make sure you stay past the credits; the stinger is a long one. Also, refreshing to have (I'd call this a minor spoiler) a pretty unambiguously happy ending + reform for Harley.

The Batman/Harley movie is real bad. There's Pretty much constant awkward Sexual jokes and the tone is all over the place. It feels more like an r-rated Batman 66 than TAS. Animation quality is lacking too

I'm watching it right now.

It's just as awkward as you'd think...I mean Batman's response and the aftermath was amusing...but the joke wasn't really worth it.

That being said, it's still a funny movie...the tone is weird and kind of preachy when Ivy and Woodrue are on the screen but...it's not bad...yet? I'm only halfway through though.

Harley's voice actress is nicer than Tara Strong's version at least. Hers is pretty screechy at times.

It'd be much easier to deal with his perviness if it wasn't in the near identical style of his children's cartoons. And even then, I don't care as much about him being a perv as I do about Harley having 2 butt cracks. At least when Greg Land traces porn models it means his art is based on actual human anatomy.
