You know why, Plugger. It's because your old phone didn't do all the things you wanted it to do. You can still buy cheap phones that just have the basic features, but you chose not to get one of those. And you're not going to go out and get one now either, because no matter how much it annoys you, you actually want a smartphone because it does things your old phone couldn't do.

This goes for all those "old technology was better" complaints. Old technology still exists. And the only reason you're not using it is because actually it's not as good as the new technology. Stop complaining about your life improving.

Ok, I couldn't take it so I looked it up. Gotta say, Double Talk lacks the structure and sophistication of Pig Latin, but I can see how a person who is good at it might sound cool.

It was a comedy thing in the 1930s and 40s. Looks like it was usually used by a character who was supposed to be a slick-talker or using a lot of obscure jargon. Sometimes it was used to sound like a foreign language.

Yeah, he's really good. That cartoon in particular feels like it could easily be relevant today if the quiz show was just swapped out for a reality competition show. I think there are a few Addams Family cartoons in the book later too.
