Why have one 25 minute a night pairing when you can have two? Nashville didn't regularly play them together. Plus at this point Weber is something of a liability at 5 on 5. I'll pair them up on the PP though.

quote:

I agree, I'm sorta having to go with 2nd line centre by consensus here. I'm hoping one of Bennett or Gagner hits their stride and can work as a serviceable 2nd line centre. Bennett had a bad season, but I could see him putting up 45-50 points this year and be a regular 2nd line threat long term. He's an excellent and creative distributor, but he's struggling to find his exact niche in the NHL. People think of him as small, but he's 6'0 185lbs. He just has issues with his positioning that he could sorta ignore in the OHL, and needs to learn to find space rather than trying to work into it once he has the puck on his stick. It's a very correctable deficiency, and I could see him having a few 60 point seasons at his peak.

Thanks for posting your lineups and such while I’ve been busy sleeping/playing taxi driver. Before the whole thing gets underway, I do need a few more pieces of info. The good news is, most of it is optional.

Extra Attackers
Out of everything the game can do itself, this isn’t one of them. Strange. Simple enough though, just which two players you want to be set as extra attackers.

Captains (Optional)
1 Captain, 2 Alternates. No 3 Alternates option, so sorry if that’s what you wanted.

Lineup (Optional)
Your lines for play. You don’t have to fill them all out, so if you just want to fill out the 5v5 ones and let your coach figure out the PP/PK lines, that’s fine.
Lines:
Forward Line 1
Forward Line 2
Forward Line 3
Forward Line 4

Defensive Pairing 1
Defensive Pairing 2
Defensive Pairing 3

Starting Goalie – Backup Goalie

5v4 Powerplay 1
5v4 Powerplay 2
5v3 Powerplay 1
5v3 Powerplay 2

4v5 Penalty Kill 1
4v5 Penalty Kill 2
3v5 Penalty Kill 1
3v5 Penalty Kill 2

4v4 Line 1
4v4 Line 2

The game does offer internal team reports (according to the Assistant GM), in case you are having trouble deciding where to place someone. It is also basically how the lines will be set if you don’t want to set them.
Atlantic
Boston | Buffalo | Detroit | Florida | Montreal | Ottawa | Tampa Bay | Toronto
Metropolitan
Carolina | Columbus | New Jersey | NY Islanders | NY Rangers | Philadelphia | Pittsburgh | Washington
Central
Chicago | Colorado | Dallas | Minnesota | Nashville | St. Louis | Winnipeg
Pacific
Anaheim | Arizona | Calgary |Edmonton | Las Vegas | Los Angeles | San Jose | Vancouver

So there’s that.

Voting
Basically three things to be decided. The first is injuries. Do you want them on or off? The second is trades. Again, do you want them on or off? Lastly, I hope to have a poll set up for the purpose of ranking teams from 1-31. Rankings will be for the inverse number of points, that is the team you rank 1 will get 31 points, the team you rank 2 will get 30, and so on until the 31th team you rank gets 1 point. If there’s a tie, I’ll set up a runoff poll.

Injuries Poll: http://www.strawpoll.me/13765269
Trading Poll: http://www.strawpoll.me/13764855
Ranking Poll: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LNKNWVM

I think I’ll start the actual sim Friday night, so I’ll close the first two polls at like 8 EST. I also plan on going through the preseason stuff in one go, unless someone feels strongly otherwise. I’ll give everyone a day to adjust lines if they don’t like they’re seeing out of the team, sim a week, wait a irl day, sim a week, etc. until we get to the end. I’ll post the score for every game, and if you want extra info about your team, I’ll be happy to provide it. I’ll also post the basic stats for everyone’s team at the end of every in game month.

Strongest in the sense in that if you take the top lw, top center, and top rw you'll get the most skilled top line your team can make. If you want a more balanced scoring, it's not the "best" lineup, in that sense.
