Also wtf steroid dudes just let the thing die. We posted a bunch of objectively horrifying and hilarious poo poo from your thread but we don't really give a single poo poo if you explode your heart injecting horse semen into it or whatever, and coming in to explain how great and magical horse semen actually is for a human heart isn't gonna do anything but make everyone laugh at your thread full of horrors more

Swan Lake is a ballet by Tchaikovsky, and includes no singing.

What's up with all the "pay your taxes" probations showing up in the Leper Colony? They all originate from a single LP thread. Skimming through the thread's OP provides no clue, and Let's Play doesn't seem to currently have a rules thread.

Whoops, I ctrl+f'd "taxes" but not "tax." Well I dunno anything about that game, but that meme must be SERIOUSLY overused if there's a punishment for it and people are still doing it that much. No wonder they had to impose a tax.

Does LP communicate through some kind of moon language

It's something from a cutscene that the mother tells her son the father does. It's a euphemism for flying fighter jets. I have never played this game nor watched the LP. Why do I know this?

Part of the reason it endures (and the reason an LP of an arcade-style flight sim even works) is that there's like, 55 years of storyline and world building across the game series, and the cutscenes have always been top-notch as far as quality and production value. The world is also insane and every country apparently gets their own absurd gigantic airship superweapon thing, and you get over the top scenes like your bff wingmate singing a song as he crashes into a football stadium

Space Camp fuckup posted:Does LP communicate through some kind of moon language Anyway, they're not dumb, they're just daft, so there's a good chance they're doing it because of the tax rather than in spite of it. Especially as the OP suggests there might be a "prize" for whoever gets probated the most.

TheDarkFlame posted:You're not hugely wrong. It's a weird subforum and they have some weird people. I mean, there was a thread where they played Rock Paper Scissors, split into two teams to vote on their move and argue their case. And I'm pretty sure Crow was the guy who tried to cheat by telling the other team what move his team were going for. It sounds absur but it all turned out pretty well in the end and it was quite a good set of threads. I was part of that game, and it was actually pretty awesome. It was on its way to being a regular game ending in another turn or two, so Crow spiced things up by going supervillain and betraying his own team. We ended up with a ton of artwork showing the "revolution" and made what would have been an ordinary game of Rock Paper Scissors into something hilarious and memorable. We just finished a chess game done the same way, and Covski had to put a "No supervillainy" rule in the OP.

I mean it's been a while since I played those games but I'm pretty sure it's used a bunch of times later on in the same context you're thinking of except replace "whips out revolver and fires" with "drops in behind enemy jet and launches missile"
