Some dutch guys played the game for about 16 hours and these are their thoughts. It talks about the story length and some gear/power progression etc.. There are no story spoilers but some goons are sensitive flowers, so I spoilered it They played for 16 hours and got about two thirds through the story. That time does include "a bit of PvP and strikes" and adventures. "Destiny 2 is not a grindfest at all" You start with absolutely nothing, no power. Progress is a lot better than in D1. Mentions you unlock different things at different levels. He didn't have his sparrow yet at level 20. Armor doesn't get cool until the endgame. Talks about Titan (the planet moon). One of the locations is an abandoned resort. Game looks absolutely stunning. Music is also amazing, apparently only 4 guys at Bungie are responsible for the music. Zero complaints, except maybe you have to start all over. (Obviously) they haven't played anything of the end game. Sounds good, like they have decided to make a serius singleplayer game that make sense this time. Is interesting because we know is not a serius singleplayer game, is a shot and loot game. Will be a bit jarring when you are in the part with no supers, and two friends high level join you and proceed to super'ed everything like gods. I wonder if Anthem is a concern to them. Destiny++ is still Destiny and Anthem aimed at more realism and areas that look more expansive (but that will probably be the same size Destiny). This normally make game devs nervous and force them to do weird poo poo.

no one is going to compare anthem to destiny and be like 'lmao this kiddie poo poo?' anthem is going to have a bunch of totally in-game trailers that will totally be reflected in game, we promise, with huge zones and lots of items and then when it ships it'll have five guns that are reskins of each other in glorified hallways

the perception of anthem is that it's a game that's at best half a year away from a studio that's never done anything quite so ambitious or technologically advanced who literally just shelved a major blockbuster IP because it was a total loving disaster i don't think activision or bungie care much about anthem tbh

I thought the gameplay reveal of Anthem looked great but it's obvious that the final game will not look or play anything like that at all. I'd love to be wrong but it looks too good.
