Outside of maybe sticking it at the front of a line to give an Arts-effect to the rest of your teammates' cards, or pulling off an Arts-Arts-Arts combo, or maybe if you have an Arts-boosting CE or skill to increase damage, it would seem to be a detrimental status to have for your NP.
I think you answered your question. Also for those np 2 that can art chain from 180% to 200%

What your mentioned are kinda big deal and not as useless as you thought.

This sounds like the biggest possible plus. Maybe if you have a CE that greatly boosts NP gain you can get really close to firing it off again afterwards.

Rider Mordred isn't out in NA yet, but she's a prime example of this. Put her together with a Tamamo, and her NP will often bring her right back up to 100%. I can usually use her NP 4 turns in a row as long as there are enough enemies

Needless to say she's really good for farming EXP/QP dailies

Also, Archer Artoria is a single-target example, she can spam her NP stupidly much as well

Quick card has the lowest dmg modifier, so you better crit next turn or lose out to art and their NP SPAM.

Imagine art chain every turn, 20% charge every turn.

So let me see if I have this right: There's no downside to levelling multiples of the same CE before you combine them, because if you combine two the excess XP is just applied to the combined CE. And if you toss a bunch of 1* CEs together this way, you can make 'CE bombs' to instantly max out high-level CEs?

Am I misinterpreting what I'd heard?

I guess but I laugh at the notion of "instantly maxing out" anything. I've been doing the "always throw higher leveled CEs into level 1 CEs" for the bonus XP for weeks, and then this week unloaded these so-called "CE bombs" into a 4* CE. It was in the 40s and all of the bombs together gained it two levels. Honestly CE leveling feels like a scam unless you have a lot of excess 3* from the FP gacha.

There are events later on that give you CE exp cards that give a bunch of experience, but even then levelling a CE to 100 will take a very very long time

Also that 4* CE (the defense boosting one with Kirei) gave it like a...30 HP boost.

Limit breaking a CE for improved effects feels far, far more important.

I don't know if I'm playing this game correctly. I spend most of my week farming ascension items and sometimes EXP cards. I have barely touched any of the main story and character quest stuff because the items are so rare.

I kinda want to put a poll up to see what people think Aniplex are going to do for September.

We basically have 4 options:

1. Swap in GUDAGUDA instead of Halloween.
2. Put Okeanos in a bit early.
3. gently caress it, Halloween in September is fine.
4. You get literally nothing.

Those are roughly ranked more or less in the order of likelihood that makes sense to me, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

NRVNQSR

If they have Okeanos' translation ready I'd think that releasing it early would make the most sense. In the japanese schedule it and London feel pretty squashed together.

That said, September only having the Kintoki banner would make a lot of sense too.

It varies, but if you get all the login bonuses and shop tickets it should work out to at least 20 or so rolls a month; probably more.

Eventually you'll hit a point where realistically speaking you can't level guys up anymore, because you need to grind for materials that are basically nonexistant outside of events. So, what to do with your AP in the mean time? Might as well put it into the story content. It's not like it's going anywhere. But also don't forget that completing the story will net you some drops you wouldn't otherwise get, such as pieces and monuments for when you fight servants the first time.

And what if you have a strict 'no quartz spent on anything but 10-rolls' policy? Because that's 'most efficient' and some people physically need to play their waifu game at maximum efficiency.

But yeah, I often wonder what the new player experience is like for people who weren't there week 1. I was able to get enough quartz together to do 5 10-rolls on the Gil banner, but without that, the extra critical xp successes, and other jump-starts, I don't know how anyone could catch up to me after these 2 months. And I wouldn't even consider myself that far in, my best servants are level 60, I have 1 5*, and all my Fous have been sacrificed to Medusa because I've decided I wanted to waifu her despite no casual bookworm outfit option.

Not getting Heracles a 4* of your choice is the biggest hit for latecomers, I think. But early game advancement is a lot easier now than it was at the start; it's easy to get level 90 supports of any class now, so new players can start chaining dailies and master level ups almost immediately; multiple servants at level 50 on day 1 should be completely doable.

I'm not convinced that many people rerolled for 5*s to be honest; even on day one you were looking at 6+ hours of rerolling for a decent chance at one. Threads like this aren't really going to be a representative sample.

It was easier to reroll for a good start in general, though.

I started at launch and rerolled during the Gil banner. As of this moment, I kinda regret picking Herc for my free 4* because I never use him and just pick random max level altera/lancelot/gil with kaleidoscope. This might change in the future but right now I never use my herc.

Rerolling for a 5* wasn't even that hard unless you were dead set on a specific 5+4* pair (e.g. herc/waver, probably the most popular). You only really got into rerolling hell when you're looking for specific servant/ce sets

Herc feels like basically the "perfect" Berserker. A skill to boost his attack, two defense-orientated skills to keep him alive (this is key), and a single-target Buster NP that hits a ton of times. He even seems to have an OK NP gain rate. The worst thing I can say about him is that I guess his star generation capabilities is kind of lackluster.

My Herc is also at 70 but with a Limited Zero / Over CE he regularly brushes 10,000 damage per Buster hit. I can only imagine what he'll be able to do once he gets his Bond CE.
