The problem is that so many people have normalized hate against transgendered individuals that most people can't generate outrage. Remember that the Nazis hating on the Jews did not actually generate widespread outrage in it's time because that was seen as normal. It's the same effect and it's a reality that every transgendered individual has to live with. In short, poo poo is hosed up.
