I'm assuming Richard does have some significance to the plot other than being a vaporized dick, since Audrey's story has yet to come to a conclusion, and Jerry witnessed it all. There's probably going to be some Horne family vengeance going down.

Episode is volcanic fire. The keystone kops jamboree at the Jones residence was one of the most entertaining unpredictable things I've ever seen in any drama. Did anyone find Tammy's "wow, a tulpa!" really awkward and bad timing? Come on Tammy, the poor lady just revealed being raped, then was emotionally and corporeally ripped apart. If there was suppose to be an emotional residue in that scene from Diane's ability to regain her memory and speak out about her trauma, it got ruined by 1. terrible CGI, 2. the tulpa reveal. I did love that her last words were "I know. gently caress you" lol. Best pay-off all season.

I think I might rewatch Mulholland Drive in advance of next week. There seems to be some interesting crossover there with the setup at play for the finale...A show where everything that's happening is at least to some degree taking place within the dream of one girl. Also, originally planned as an Audrey Horne spin-off. Honestly, more than anything I hope that there's a good final resolution to the story next week and it doesn't end on another cliffhanger. If the story can/does go on from here, I could definitely get on-board with a spin-off series, but I hope this is the last (red) curtain for this story arc at least, even if everything isn't wrapped up perfectly neatly.

I think they were maybe expecting something, but weren't expecting the confession. I think the memories of Diane that still lived in the construct were fighting against the programming to tell them everything. I was just so relieved at the end because I serious figured that she would try to shoot Gordon and Albert would jump in front of him to take the bullet.

I think I would have been pretty sad if Gordon ate it. Expected more for Albert to. Tammy I knew was safe since the lead-in Twin Peaks book is supposed to be compiled after The Returns events. The little trivia sidebar thing said Lara Flynn Boyle was offered a returning role as Donna and turned it down. I've never heard that mentioned anywhere else, I thought it was basically just accepted that she didn't get offered a role because of all the plastic surgery. Wonder what direction they would have went if she'd accepted, that seems like it would require some drastic script changes. edit: Also the Jerry binoculars scene was incredible. He is the highest man that has ever lived, he's been tripping for like two weeks straight. Grizzled Patriarch fucked around with this message at 06:14 on Aug 28, 2017 |

I loved the crowd swaying back and forth in eerie unison. Audrey's dance reminded me of the scene in 8 1/2 where the "old" woman gets one last dance before she goes upstairs to live out the rest of her days, except not as pathetic. This and the screaming girl are two highlights for me, just pure, unidentifiable emotion.

I could see them having Donna come back, and her interactions with Laura's stuff drove her to a wild life where she ended up having too much bad plastic surgery done and then tried to come back and reintegrate with Twin Peaks after her career died. But I don't think LFB would be too into that.
