It's actually kind of hilarious that everybody stamping their feet abut how undemocratic it would be for them to boot Danny from the NPC don't consider the basically dictatorial way he's run Austin as an affront to democracy that rises to the level of malfeasance. Like he did all that poo poo after he was elected and it pretty clearly shows his unsuitability for being a leader of a democratic organization to at least the same degree as missing two loving meetings. The problem here isn't that there's no reason to boot him from the NPC, it's that there's such an obvious reason and the pro-expulsion side couldn't articulate it for some reason. Or maybe they could and the anti-expulsion side are just a bunch of stubborn dummies letting the whole org get get hijacked by the threat of a frivolous lawsuit. Who knows, there are no reliable details about the deliberations, point is that there are no grounds for calling anyone who thinks the NPC made the wrong call anti-democratic.

Also Danny acting so defensive is what you get when you get 1000s people telling the DSA to get rid of the racist cop when in fact he is literally not a racist cop. Especially in an organization that has issues with cops, which Danny does have issues with 'badcops'. You work for the cause as a comrade for decades and it's all thrown down the drain because some kids are saying you're a dirty cop. Not saying he's acting good in reaction, but he's reacting predictably towards such a significant charge. The solution isn't to oust someone based on rumors and assumptions on what they did but to fix the system if you don't like how he got elected through the democratic rules setup for the election. So we just gotta see how he votes with his limited power in the NPC (which he did vote for prison/police abolition last I heard.) For Austin folks thankfully it should be easier to get a solution locally, even if it's have meetings without Danny if it comes to that.

I have yet to hear anything in regards to what he did specifically was bad other than potentially touch a cop voluntarily outside a protest. (He's touched plenty of cops (well they touched him) voluntarily inside protests, as recently as this summer)
