Does anyone know if going into overwatch drains more fatigue than just passing your turn?

I would honestly love it if the fatigue system was explained at all. Like, is it better to start an early firefight and have to slog through a tougher battle, or is it better to stay quiet for ten turns (when you have the luxury) and set up a series of perfect ambushes that delete enemy pods in a single turn.

I like it when the reaper gets eyes on with the 'An enemy seen is always revealed' perk. She wasted an action on stealthing...only to be unstealthed because reapers.

I know the stamina bar isn't based on just killing, because my Outsider is always the most fatigue and she averages by far the least amount of shots or kills.

Hopefully there will be a mod that just does floating Will damage numbers with icon whenever a soldier takes a will hit.

So the Warlock mind controls my soldier and I use a flashbang on them to make them mostly harmless. So instead of impotently shooting at my guys the mind controlled soldier instead randomly targets a fuel tank across the map. A fuel tank that my cloaked reaper is sitting by.

It's encountering enemies generally: every enemy you encounter will cause a small bit of will drain. This stops taking effect once a unit has lost 1/3rd of their will.

Civilians dying will also drain will. This stops working once a unit has lost 1/4th of their will.

After that it's pretty much anything bad happening to the soldier or their squad (and will loss is scaled based on how bad it was), and those events are allowed to completely drain their will.

Is it a bad idea fatigue-wise to headshot endless hordes of lost? It's kind of fun to do that and rack up numbers, but I don't want to put key squaddies out of action for too long just for kicks.

I believe it just means they launch an attack that forces you to play the new Avenger Defense mode. When you beat it, they lose some knowledge.

So the lesson I learned today is never send squaddies or under on covert ops. You can't really outrun ADVENT without fighting something. Rip my other ranger.

While things like this are cute, I can't help but want to punch them for it.

Like, if this was in the next expansion I'd get a laugh out of it. In this expansion it means they knew that the chosen weren't shutting the gently caress up, yet they still included the lines anyways.

It feels like I'm playing diablo 3 at launch again. Complete with "Hahaha, you can't possibly destroy my hell rif- oh. Well you can't destroy tw-. Oh. Nevermind, I don't need hell rifts!"

Seriously, just once I'd like the chosen to smack talk less when I push their poo poo in during the thirty second fight.

It is a nice touch that they have special lines for the alien ruler equipment though.

This is really forcing me to keep a deep bench of soldiers and it's great. I just lost two good soldiers on the blacksite because the assassin showed up unexpectedly. That'd normally be discouraging, but I've been maintaining a lot of ok troops rather than an A team and a bunch of garbage people, so it's nbd.

If anything is too busy in the expansion it's the inside of the Avenger. I'm used to rushing the first power coil for my generator followed by a middle workshop, but now NESW AWC-Comms-Generator-Comms plan is all hosed up by the resistance ring...? Nevermind the defence matrix.

Taking a shot at advent without breaking stealth on lost map leads to interesting results. Such as you get to watch purifyers actually do some purifying. And they are pretty decent at it actually.

I just wish the lost would pay more atteñtion to advent in general, feels like they bumrush my guys excepy for maybe 2.

As for the assasin, use the reaper just like it says in weaknesses? She is accurate enough to reliably hit, does extra damage and runs far enough to reach her hidey holes. And when I got sparks, he ripped the assassin to shreds.

The continuous willpower drain makes their psionic attacks much more attractive and effective than before. But at least they're not shooting.

There's a mod that makes the Lost target Advent at a 50% rate. According to the mod author, the unmodded game is normally weighted 70/30 in favor of attacking XCom.

I think it was called Fair Lost or something like that.

On the subject of mods, are there any working mods that smooth out the camera rotation? After playing LW2 for so long, I can't stand the giant camera swings that the default uses. I did find a CameraRotation entry in an .ini file, but changing it from 45 to 15 didn't seem to change anything.

That's intended behaviour. Lost have 70% chance to target Xcom, with the remaining 30% chance to attack Advent.

This is easily changed in the ini however, and a mod is already out if you don't want to install notepad++.

It's been two months and I haven't seen the Chosen Assassin again. Just how often do they attack you?

Also I love that some missions are designed for actual stealth instead of the psuedostealth the original game had. Of course my specialist hosed up the hack, but it was the first one of the game so A for effort buddy. :smith:

I'd recommend it - there is so much new stuff it would be a bit overwhelming. I feel like the expansion introduces mechanics that deliberately mess with what you might have learned in the base game, so an argument could be made you're better off jumping into the deep end on Veteran.

Is EU Aim Rolls the mod everyone recommends or is there a better one for avoiding a hit being a crit? I kind of want to leave aim rules alone since the devs will have balanced around the new system but the modded mechanics seem much more intuitive.
