I'm sadly kinda tempted by it...I have no desire to get sucked down the rabbit hole of another collectible game (I haven't touched the LCG in over a year and I still buy every pack)....but a self contained 2 player game might be worth it...

Destiny is really fun. The top meta decks are obnoxiously unfun to play against, and most have some staples that are really expensive. A 2 player set just chillin' to pull out and play is probably the best way to experience it. I don't have much fun with the deck construction part of it, and I also am sorely tempted by the collectible nature of it so I want to stay far away from that.

Storage for Destiny is a big issue to really collecting it long term. Like it was nice that with Magic, unless you went ALL in on it, you needed maybe a binder for rares and a shoebox. Unfortunately because of the dice Destiny becomes a big pain in the rear end to store pretty quickly. To say nothing of toting around multiple decks to play at a game night. I mean it's minor complaint given all the Xwing stuff you can haul around, but it feels like a lot for a card game, when one of the appeals of a card game is you need less things to just play it.

I've been trying to stick with a single squad to practice, rather than chanigng every week. I've been lately playing what I called the Senar Special: Inquisitor - Tie Advanced Prototype (31 Pts) Push the Limit, Autothrusters, TIE/V1 "Lieutenant Kestal" - Tie Agressor (33 Pts) Push the Limit, Ungioded Rockets, Synched Turret, Lightweight Frame Darth Vader - Tie Advanced (35 Pts) Crack Shot, Engine Upgrade, TIE/x1, Advanced Targeting Computer I definitely want to get rid of synched turret I think, since I barely ever use it, and KI want to be in arc anyway to use its ability, so I could just use the rockets then. I think I'll try taking out the turret and giving Inqy concussion missiles. Is this the start of a good squad? I've been having a hard time building an imp squad that I feel is any good, with the ships I have (Lambda Shuttle, Firespray and Decimator are the only imp ships I don't have) ------ Also, I played against a guy who has a biggs squad that manages to stack 3 focus and an evade (with a hawk) on him. Most times he has a pretty easy time arranging so I have to shoot at Biggs (keeping them in a cluster),. and I can't hit him unless i'm super lucky. It's a pretty obnoxious list. To be honest, it's kind of really unfun to play against.

And yeah, Biggs has always been unfun to play against. Most people also think he is unfun to play, so it is a mostly self correcting problem outside of tournaments.

Changing Concussion Missiles for Prockets (-1 Pts), and getting rid of PTL (-3) puts me at 95 Pts, so with TLT (6 Pts) that's 101 points, even without VI (Which would put me at 102), according to my x-wing builder. So here's an attempt at an Imperial squadron based around mobility and a strong TIE Defender. 98 points PILOTS Sienar Specialist (24) - TIE Aggressor TIE Aggressor (17), Twin Laser Turret (6), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1) Rexler Brath (42) - TIE Defender TIE Defender (37), Tractor beam (1), Crack Shot (1), TIE/D (0), Hull Upgrade (3) Imperial Trainee (17) - TIE Striker Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15) - TIE/FO Thoughts?

Give Kestal TLT and Predator. With the reroll, you can usually get enough natural hits so you can spend the focus token to trigger his ability and shut down autothruster and tokened ships. In my experience, I could essentially put Fenn on a timer with one damage per round

Today I actually managed to make Nym's +1 evade ability work. It was super satisfying. This was the list: Captain Nym (Scum) (30) Veteran Instincts (1) Twin Laser Turret (6) Bomblet Generator (3) Accuracy Corrector (3) "Genius" (0) Long-Range Scanners (0) Havoc (0) Boba Fett (Scum) (39) Veteran Instincts (1) Tractor Beam (1) Cluster Mines (4) Cad Bane (2) Glitterstim (2) Cluster Mines (4) Extra Munitions (2) Guidance Chips (0) Slave I (0) Total: 98 View in Yet Another Squad Builder I've played it twice. ONce I was super dumb and split them up, and Nym got cornered and murdered. Today, I got the tactics right and opened by banking Boba in front of the enemy, then 2 turning him away and forcing the chase, and then staying on him with Nym, frequently bumping him to get the cover of the bomb. Boba gets sucky mods, but then he's basically there to tote cad and be super annoying.

TLTs, Lightweight Frame, Unguided Rockets, and Intensity all in one pack is a pretty decent spread of upgrade cards, and as above it's a pretty viable self-contained list with four of them.
