Yeah his design philosophy definitely fell apart when we finally reached Warhammer, but I think his broadening of every ancient culture's military roster was the start of the fall. Taking it back further to Shogun 2, where I first heard of him (and admittedly liked his mod), what Radious mostly did was make "missing" variants of each warrior class paired with a weapon type, as well as make battles much bigger and more likely to happen with income boosts across the board. That works much better in a game where the only thing differentiating factions were arbitrary bonuses from what we know about them through history, and starting conditions like diplomacy and location.

Thanks to all who recommended that Less Blood mod on the workshop, it's much better now. I picked up Call of the Beastmen and it sure is impressive seeing a gorebull charge into a line of infantry, sending them flying

So the 50% more skill points mod was deleted today, it was the go to mod for me when it came to exp stuff so i decided to remake it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1127180561 Gives you 2 points every odd level starting from level 3 and onward.

Too many skill points makes later levels feel like a chore. I also don't like too many at the start. I found one that gave me 1 for 1-10, 2 for 11-20, and 3 for 21-30, and that seemed about right.

Yeah, if people want to use SFO, go ahead. If people want to pimp SFO, go ahead. If you do, keep the caveat that homeboy is a Nazi though, so people don't feel the need to support the guy on patreon for liking his work. Don't give Nazis money. Or just do what I did and cut out the Overhaul bits and make the game you want using individual mods. I'm far happier with my individual mods game then I ever was with my SFO games. The AI feels better then it did in SFO, I was able to add in a few things I wanted that SFO doesn't do ( or conflict with SFO ), and I don't have weird poo poo like new units/updated units that really upset the balance in odd ways ( the bats are still there! why! why! is he also a bat lover. ). Like I have everything SFO offers now but better, and I could even get better magic through Cataphs if I really cared/thought base magic sucked as much as others do. SFO is just the lazy option now. e: also yes, the WElves DLC also lets you just be the forest that is also angry at the elves for being such shits.

I found a mod that makes Chaos spawn initially as a force and not do the whole event chain. It would have been a cool thing, except on like turn 19 some random chaos warrior dude ran all the way south to The Moot to raze my one holding there. Apparently the mod wasn't entirely functioning, since I got the Chaos Stirs event, but it's an amazing gently caress you player thing to think some random unit would travel halfway across the world just to destroy a minor settlement. Are the WE/BM campaigns different or are they more "Hold XYZ land, kill Chaos" things?
