Does anyone know if I would need to restart my current WotC game if wanted to add Shen's Last Gift? I never got any of the DLC released between the original game and WotC, but Shen's Last Gift looks neat.

You know, if there's one thing about XCOM 2 I still hate it's how AOEs are now tile-based and not radius-based. It's just a lot less intutive for me to figure out what tiles in the cone are going to get hit at a glance.

The nanomachine aliens suck huge balls. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't get the longass move to turn one of my dudes into a robit and then another pretty long move to get away.

Hey on those ops to rescue captured soldiers with the security levels, does that security level raise if a SPARK kool-aid mans his way into the cell your soldier's held in?

I did it, I turned off the alien rulers DLC after encountering the archon king while moving my C-squad to a facility destroy mission with magnetics/predator armor and a full avatar project bar. I have ZERO regrets.

Shumagorath posted:Training Centre is great all around but it squares the utility of a good Specialist. Being able to heal and hack with one character even if they're dedicated to e-war or revival is amazing. Yeah, I think probably the most reliable perk of Training Center is that you can take med and revival protocol on every specialist, then double back for Haywire and Combat on your first specialist to get significant buffs to hacking and have a dedicated anti-robot specialist.

Yeah, the other three main classes I either have a straight preference (Ranger and Sharpshooter) and Grenadiers feel 'complete' both ways, but it's really great to be able to make your Specs hacking/healing/scanning jacks of all trades.

Does War of the Chosen affect the early game? Is it the type of expansion where it's all post game content? Considering picking up xcom 2.

So has anyone else been having this problem where the game crashes while loading the avenger? I have verified files and reinstalled the game and disabled mods and managed to actually load the Avenger once. Just once. When I finished the next mission, it crashed again. Could it be a video driver? I updated my Nvidia driver to try and get past it, but that hasn't helped.

Firstborn posted:Does War of the Chosen affect the early game? Is it the type of expansion where it's all post game content? Considering picking up xcom 2. It dramatically affects the early game. If you turn on the story mission, you get something like an extended tutorial to introduce all the changes (but also locks your choices for a bit). Even without that, there are lots of new mission types and new enemy types and boss enemies and "hero" classes and so on.

XCOM 2 also has its own crashdump collector that should run. It does bring up XCom 2's crashdump collector, at least. I just can't figure out what went wrong. It was playing fine until...Thursday night? Hell, it plays fine until it has go between a map and the Avenger. Avenger to map worked okay that one time I got it to work, but then going the other direction killed it again. marshmallow creep fucked around with this message at 18:13 on Sep 3, 2017 |

Finished a play through on veteran just to get familiar with what the game is going to throw at me now and am going to start a "proper" run on Ironman/Commander. I see the advanced option lets me pick which new class I start with first, what do you guys think is the most useful class is early on.

Well, looks like my layout is ruined. I need a second power relay if I want to make enough contacts to even see the Warlock, let alone hit all the currently running facilities. To build on a second coil I need to scrap my Shadow Chamber then scrap my Lab to rebuilt that. I have engineers to spare so maybe I can get away with building the second power relay off in the corner; the difference is only +2. I could let the next retaliation go in hopes it doesn't wipe out anything in North America, but gently caress that I'm not a monster. No, no. Turn it on but don't integrate it. Then you get the cool weapons for free immediately and just ignore the nest mission forever.

Reaper with banish, superior expanded magazine, superior scope and superior repeater and the order to empower weapon mods should give me a 100*1-0.8^8=83% chance to instantly gently caress up whatever I decide to magdump on given I can get close enough for 100% hit chance, correct? Please confirm/deny that the game lets me do this, Archon King is lurking at my next facility.

Does Banish count as one shot for actions though? Or is he gonna get an action for each shot from banish? I seem to remember Rulers getting an action between the shots of either Chain shot or Dual strike.
