Man, Candice did quite well at every aspect of wrestling in her match except for running, which is a shame because when you work a quick style like hers, running is a huge part of wrestling. I don't know if it was her ring attire causing it or something, but pretty much every time she ran at her opponent looked awkward and hesitant as hell

I thought Candice's running was awkward in part because her opponent was bad and she didn't want to charge full steam at someone who wouldn't be ready.

A lot of female wrestlers who have worked with her or toured with her in Japan end up developing girl crushes on her too. She connects which pretty much all that matters on a WWE level really.

Binged all four episodes again. Like what we assumed, Round 2, the Quarterfinals, and the Semi-Finals were a step up from the first round. No real bad matches, some sloppy ones for sure, but nothing on the level of Belle/Evers. If there's anything I could say about it, it's that it was kinda predictable how it turned out. I really liked Dakota Kai/Rhea Ripley, which was probably my second favorite match of the tournament, and everything Piper Niven did was pretty fun to watch (double bridge!). Kairi had some really good matches too, particularly with Toni Storm, who in a better world would have been her finals opponent. My concern is that carrying Shayna Baszler to a good match may be a really tall order. Baszler is really boring to watch and doesn't have any charisma or presence, just an angry look. That and the set-up for the Horsewomen vs. Horsewomen feud is really dumb. Otherwise I've enjoyed the tournament, I'm just really wary of the finals.

So my thoughts on where I think the MYC is heading (obvious semi-final spoilers here): Setting up 4HW vs 4HW seems like an interesting move from the outside, but I feel like for that to happen, they'll be forced to put Shayna over in the finals, which won't sit well with a lot of people, as the general reaction is that she's only there because she's Ronda's friend. It doesn't help that while Shayna can emote, her in ring ability (which is also decent) doesn't seem to mesh well with WWE viewers. All in all, call me whatever you want, but I feel like Kairi is going to get squashed in the finals, just so WWE can have the UFC 4HW wrestle a match or whatever.

Apparently the guy who runs Squared Circle Sirens said that 3 of the unsigned competitors have been signed as well. I don't know how credible he is.

This is some good wrestling and I really hope a lot of these women get signed to breathe some new life into the women's division. I really like Kairi Sane, but I feel like her whole gimmick could be tweaked a little bit to make her come across as more of a threat, a bit less pirate at a kid's birthday party and a bit more actual pirate I guess. Keep the pirate stuff though I love that gimmick. That elbow drop is something to behold and she's still probably my personal favorite out of the bracket. I also hope we get a lot more big women in the mix. I wanna see some solid women's hoss matches in WWE and there aren't a lot of big motherfuckers on the roster right now.
