Doubly so when, according to the article, a bunch of textures aren't even in 4k which was the reason for those monstrous requirements to run it in the first place. FFXV is cool, and fun, and sometimes its even good! Sometimes it's not, but that's okay, even greatest-game-of-all-time FFVI had that one lovely part where you had to play as Strago or whatever.

More time spent on Aranea or Lunafreya would have really helped. Its more of a Skyrim game than a Final Fantasy. I was more disappointed by XV's story than XIII's and I really loathe XIII.

To play devil's Advocate, "Bluh, it's just a demo, they'll fix it, it totally will be released in a fixed state!!!" Counterpoint: Every japanese game ever on release. Name me one that didn't need patches by the devs or by a third party to make it good (see also: Dark Souls)

Lightning Returns actually had a pretty drat good PC port, and IX/X were mostly fine. I think people overstate how bad SE ports are, at least lately.

Both MGS5s, unless you had a Phenom II and that was fixed in under 24 hours anyway. God Eater Resurrection/2, Berseria, uh.. plenty of stuff.

IDK about GER/2 but Tales games have a few PC iterations FF13/2 was released in a suboptimal state and still is. FF10 is EH but at least it doesn't crash. FF_ games in general aside from like FF11/14 don't have options like something like DX:HR has for computer settings and performance, just offhand.

kirbysuperstar posted:Falcom aren't indie and neither are XSEED you goal post shifting fool XSEED is totally indie, in comparison to the corporate giant that is Square Enix. The ratio is much lower for other games.

What exactly is the point, here? Just because a thing is popular means that it has no flaws and shouldn't get fixed and we shouldn't criticize it? Not everyone cares about every single problem in a game. That doesn't mean problems don't exist.

Is it wrong to feel some delicious schadenfreud that a console game's PC port is too resource-intensive for many players' computers? I'm used to hearing "game consoles are literally poo poo in a box and will NEVER match even a low-end PC gaming rig."

The point is: Will SE release a playable game? Sure. Will it require a lot of patches to get it right? I'd guarantee it. Frankly anything less than the settings you find in ff14 and I'll be disappointed. It's not unreasonable to expect they'll not get it right on the first go, as they are not pc developers. But at the same time complaining about a pre-demo is the best way to help bring attention to the fact they can do better. GreenBuckanneer fucked around with this message at 07:24 on Sep 7, 2017 |

It's... its like Gradius or one of those games. Reminds me of Guardian Legend without the Zelda-like overworked and in a fantasy rather than scifi setting. There doesn't seem to be a thread for it. Didn't see it posted but the bestiary has been in the game for sometime. Interesting tidbits of information. You can rotate the models of each monster except for Chadarnook, Melusine, and Shiva, probably to prevent players from getting their on.
