Like, most places won't allow anything with less than a 26" barrel.

does it connect to that rail/raised sight thing or do you have to drill a mount

TBH, I don't really see the point, since it obscures your field of view with the bulk of the sight, which is the opposite of what you want for clay shooting. It's going to gently caress up your lead. Maybe for turkey?

It might let me shoot with both eyes open since I'm cross dominant?

The Pacific Northwest was on fire and it wasn't my fault. Blue lake, North Cascades. Rainy lake. A yodeling marmot. Lake Ann. Unnamed falls on the way to Cascade pass trailhead. Pelton basin through the smoke haze in the AM. Looking west from Cascade pass. Doubtful lake viewed from the south, through the smoke haze. Looking up the Sahale Arm trail. Looking back from the Sahale Arm trail. Doubtful lake, viewed from the north. The Sahale glacier. The trail here was pretty rough. 13ish miles round trip, with 4000 feet of elevation gain. Worth it for the views though. Pelton basin in the afternoon. Somewhat less smoke haze. Madison falls, Olympic NP. The Elwha river, complete with a ton of smoke haze. Crescent lake. The Hoh river. Mt Rainier and Reflection lake through the haze. Snow lake. Crater lake. Huge fog bank rolled in. Chipmunk not in focus because he wasn't being very cooperative. Crater lake from shore level. Plaikni falls. In Oregon Caves national monument. (Waldo isn't in here, of course.) The Pacific ocean. Lots of fog. (Waldo was field stripped and washed out with some fresh water after this.)

So I've taken stock of my current collection of rifles and I've realized I'm pretty far along on my goal of owning an example of every standard issue rifle of the United States Army, 1776 to Present. I'm sure at some point this collection will expand from "example of" to "every model" (the Model 1812 musket is different, but functionally identical to, the Model 1816 musket, for example). So here's the list, with notations showing what I own, as it currently exists: Flintlock muskets, 1776-1795: British Brown Bess or French Charleville musket Domestically produced flintlock muskets, 1795-1842: Model 1795, 1812, 1816, 1822, 1835, or 1840 musket Caplock muskets, 1842-1865: Model 1842 Caplock rifle-muskets, 1855-1873: Model 1855, British Pattern 1853**, 1861***, Colt Special 1861, 1863 Breech-loading black powder rifles, 1873-1892: Model 1873, 1880, 1884 "Trapdoor Springfields" Norwegian designed bolt action rifles, 1892-1903: Model 1892, 1896, 1898 Krag–Jørgensen* rifles Bolt action rifles, 1903-1936: Model 1903*, Model 1917 Rifles that go ping, 1936-1959: M1 Garand* Rifles that were mistakes, 1959-present: M14^ Fifty year failures, 1964-present: M16^, M4^ *I own one **I own a modern reproduction of one ***I own an original and a modern reproduction ^I'm unlikely going to be able to own a no-poo poo M14, M16 or M4 due to the National Firearms Act, but I do have semi-automatic civilian versions This collection is coming along nicely, I think. BigDave posted:Ooh, is that the original M16, with the 20-round mag and birdcage flash suppressor? Strictly speaking it's a Colt 602, which pre-dated the M16 by about two years. 20 round mag. No forward assist. Three-prong duckbill flash hider. Going retroer would have required green furniture and I thought it looked ugly.
