I've occasionally checked the times front page and they have some short videos from various islands showing the destruction. It's nuts. Stay safe goons, families and friends of goons.

Wow they just can't catch a break Once it's safe to fly it sounds like they'll be evacuating people from the Caribbean to Knoxville. Wife's unit is prepping food and tents today and possibly this weekend. No set date on when they'll arrive since their runway is rubble. Seriously. At this point I'm half expecting one of these hurricanes to make it to the west, catch on fire then pinball back across the Midwest.

I dunno man, these tracks keep shifting farther west, while the wind field remains massive. I'm not so sure this storm won't be able to keep sucking in Gulf air to sustain itself all the way up the peninsula.

The local meteorologists are saying they can't accurately forecast what it's gonna do until it makes the turn north, so it's just a waiting game. If you're in a strong block home you're fine. Mobile home not so much. My wife's mother got evacuated out of her mobile home she just bought, we figure it's probably going to be a total loss.

Looks like the storm will be bumped back up to a Cat 5. by the time it hits land. Not that it's a huge difference from where it is now anyways.

Well, it's not like there was a big difference when they downgraded it. It was at like a 2-5mph difference from 4-5. So not really surprising. But yeah, prepare for the worst. Even if it changes again, there's no harm in being over prepared.
