it's simple, anytime a member of the military wants to join the DSA you make them sign a paper that tells them that they should poo poo on the graves of any serviceman sent to imperial ventures abroad, refuse to serve of get sent to imperial wars and loudly lambast and poo poo on their fellow soldiers and disavow them for serving in thsoe wars and that they have to never support the troops, if they refuse they dont get in. bing bong boom simple.

Right now there is a lot of resentment in the military because we are currently trapped in forever war and a lot of enlisted and officers grow more bitter by the day about it. Generally our troops are poorly compensated for what they do and aren't properly treated for the damage the military does to them. Something like 21 veterans a day kill themselves. It's probably my bias from interacting with retired/currently serving officers talking rn.

pretend i quoted something more insigghtful than i will ever be about how the military in the us is in some ways the only large socialist experiment in the states and that combined with the extreme disenchantment our bumbling in the desert has caused makes vets extremely primed for the dsa no comment on cops cause im secretly a cop
