Cursive/joined letters is way faster and better for note taking, if you're taught to do it properly. Which I always assumed was the point.

I can't remember a situation I was in where taking notes on a laptop or at least a tablet with a bluetooth keyboard wouldn't have been a considerably better alternative, unless it's just a couple quick notes about something. If you really need to take notes by hand on a regular basis you're better off learning shorthand than cursive.

As far as signatures, I print mine, but it's pretty scribbly and almost works out to be a bastardized cursive, I guess - you don't need to learn cursive for that.

Cursive advocates assert that the effort of lifting a pen a sub-millimetre off the paper and down again is somehow much slower than drawing extra curlicues to join up letters that don't want to join up. This is untrue. If you want to write quickly, join up letters that do so naturally and don't force it if they don't.

I'm pro-teaching-cursive but this isn't "A/T: Ask me about niche fine motor skills in children."

but i refreshed the thread- basically this. Print is easier for young children to learn, but I'd say most adults write in a combination of cursive and print just by nature of finding the quickest way to get ideas down. I know my own handwriting is like that.

Re: vivii and vagner- I thought they were married :shrugs: I guess because so many of the punchlines are similar to that "MARRIED AMIRITE" humor in a way I've never seen represented with a LTR or FWB couple

I used to think Wagner was a girl pig and they were two female roommates until I started to see the strips where they're clearly a couple. I don't know why I thought a female pig would be named Wagner but it was funnier thinking the character was just a really gross pig woman roommate.
