Does Evil Morty have any real conflict with Rick C137? Evil Morty never actually targeted C137. They only crossed paths because The Citadel naively blamed C137 for Evil Morty's crimes.

Evil Morty could be pissed at C137 for ruining his original plan, but he seems too pragmatic to actually seek revenge on a enemy that doesn't even give a poo poo that he exists.

Well it goes back to what happens when you get an over confident Morty. He's going to be a problem and Rick is going to have to punish the gently caress out him and his own Morty because Morties make everything an extra pain in the rear end.

I guess that means the Rick in the bar was being controlled by Evil Morty

By passing the info to the fired Morty, Evil Morty planned his own assassination attempt to garner the sympathy votes and win.

I like how they made fun of everyone for wondering what happened to the citadel at the beginning of the episode.

I'm only like 20% that this will actually develop into anything for our Rick and Morty, at least not this season. It just seemed like this was a window into that world.

Everything changes, Pit.
Even gods.

This episode was great and different, loved it.

Don't think it will be relevant to 'our' Rick and Morty for a while but I'm sure it will be an issue eventually. Our Rick single-handedly destroyed the original council. Plus he's caused Evil Morty problems before. He's on the list of things to deal with I'm sure. Maybe just not for a while

The post credits thing made me think that a throw down could be coming for the season finale for some reason. I really dug this episode and how lovely the citadel was. Morty town was great with cowboy dancer morty. Their attention to all the tiny details never ceases to amaze me

There's no way Evil Morty isn't C137's original Morty.

Infinite Ricks and Infinite Mortys must therefore mean Infinite Citadels.

Loved the episode, I am totally one of the nerds fascinated by the Citadel society that C137 shat on at the beginning of the episode

I think the US is dumb for not using Celsius
I wonder what universe the citadel exists in. Or maybe it's just a nexus point for all the universes. Every universe has a citadel, and through Rick and Morty magic, they are all the same. I just really want to know more about the citadel now. Earlier encounters with the Citadel made it seem like it was all egalitarian and all the ricks and mortys are equal (respectively, not saying mortys are equal to ricks). It was just a meeting place to get away from everyone else and just hang with other Ricks. Now it seems like it's a whole world where everyone is just Ricks and Mortys and somehow some Ricks and Mortys ended up in a higher station than others.

Notice, he said the best citadel in the multiverse, not the best citadel of Ricks. I mean, there could be more than one given the infinite nature, but let's not read too much into a throwaway line.

What gets me the most about the citadel is that it can't have existed very long, not in its current form with Mortys anyways.

I mean, Morty is 14. We don't know how long Rick has been dragging around other Mortys, but I doubt it has been more than 5 years or so because a Morty that is too young would be even less useful and more of a hindrance.

Goddamn that was great. I thought I recognized that piano tune, and then actually shouted out YES when the beat and the vocals kicked in. Thank you, continuity gods.

Even more than the reveal I can't believe how many minor stories they weaved together so well. It felt like the R&M version of 22 Short Films About Springfield.

I think all of us figured out where the President Morty thing was going halfway through but that didn't make it any less satisfying. Especially since I believe that in a commentary for some previous episode I remember the creators saying that they weren't planning on using Evil Morty again and regretted making that S1 stinger.

Amazing episode. It didn't have as many jokes or as much humor overall, but in return it was probably the best plot and most dramatic episode that we've gotten from the series thus far.

Rick & Morty Training Day, with a Stand By Me subplot, and a secret evil morty takeover subplot. Great stuff.

I think that's basically a common thread with all Ricks, up to a certain point. Every Rick had a Beth and loved her until... something something.

Like that's what happened to C-137, only instead of the portal gun killing Beth he fell through the portal and broke his gun and couldn't find his way back for years or something like that.
