New hero? New skin? Hanamura remake? Who knows.

So its going to be a Varian Wrynn skin. I think the Arm is Raynor's armor though right?

Comparatively to other maps, it is confusing, poorly explained and difficult to figure out what to do when.

I personally hate it because of the way pushing works on it being really badly balanced. At least it's like the one map I can play TLV on.

When I die, I hope they say I made the eSports industry a better place than I made millions of dollars.
Every time I play with Goons there's always one person like super obsessively shot calling but his calls aren't any better than everyone just doing what they were doing anyways and his observations even when correct aren't particular useful things like "we are definitely going to lose here because we didn't draft X" and then we don't and rally. I'm not sure if I'm crazy or if this is always just tcjimbo, but it feels like this always happens with or without jimbo's presence.

When I shot call it's pretty much "move directionally Up/Down/Left/Right and I can keep you alive in 3 seconds" or "I can keep everyone alive, please kill them all" while playing a technically flawless support game and I find that usually helps out a lot more than complaints disguised as calls.

It's possible for there to be four objectives active at the same time, on top of all of the other usual map distractions (mercs, boss, pushing lanes) and in its original incarnation it was actively detrimental to even bother with the carts until you had built up shots by knocking down forts. And even in the rare instance where you might fight over a cart, they neither move fast enough nor move through varied enough terrain to create any kind of interesting tension.

In a greater sense, they basically cargo-culted the concept of "push cart to point" but completely missed why that design works, or more the point why payload maps are linear attack/defend in nature. The payload Brawl map works far better because it's exactly that, even if I don't like that much either.

Also, Hanamura isn't even a goddamn payload map in OW.

Edit: Oh, and the merc camps work completely different from every other map in the game for Reasons, granting powerful active items to use and most notably featuring a mini-boss camp that can be captured with a single bribe stack which gives a huge chunk of XP. Combined with the the carts being useless until you stocked up shots, it warped the entire metagame of the map around hard pushing and each team absolutely had to have a bribe hero.

The second pass they made to the map made things slightly less poo poo but in the process they inexplicably removed the siege bomb minions. I guess in an attempt to depower hard pushing...while still granting more core shots for taking down forts so... But what that actually meant is that if one team got sufficiently ahead, it was possible for them to be dickheads and lock the opposing team into the game because the map would never eventually self-terminate.

Adding to this, the other map that would have this issue (Towers of Doom), ends up not having the issue because they have the tunnel that leads to the center, and 3 lanes that you can leave from, and that if you happen to take all 3 towers, you will die eventually from the total control bombardment. Whereas with Hanamura, you have two exits that can be guarded and you can literally be stuck and spawn-camped.

Actually, the first game was fine. Me, tcjimbo, and the rage quitter were 3 queued and on Discord, but the rage quitter doesn't have a mic so he was just listening. Our team played really well, there wasn't much chatter, and we won handily.

Game 2 was the same setup, we played okay, which meant jimbo gave some commentary along the way. Quitter said it was annoying, but was difficult to say how pissed he was via his short messages.

Game 3, however, we went 5-stack so there was much more Discord chatter, and thus more jimbo chatter. Someone asks what we meant by goons. I told him it was a community of chill duders, though tcjimbo was more of an educational experience. Jimbo comments that he's been playing MOBAs since 2004 or 2005, so he just feels like he knows what's up. Game starts, we were winning pretty easily, until around level 13 when on the way to a successful boss sneak the jimbo got to be too much which lead to rage quitting, after which we lost.

To put it another way,

Summer, wins, and peace
Autumn brings the jimbo out
Creeping cold and rage

Jimbo bitched for almost 15 minutes about not taking the correct mercs at the correct time when I was playing as Sonya. I said going into the game that I like Sonya but I don't know the merc timings and I'm trying to get better with her. Then I told him he needs to be more polite if he wants people to do the stuff he wants, and I tried to explain that I have a different skill level than him and that I'm just trying to have fun, not execute some game plan I don't know.

Later in SAGOONS he told me to kill myself.

Draft a solid Frontline and shoot your poo poo towards the mass of people while far away. If a nerd is near you, holler on voice for some peel and make sure time traps are near you. If there is a genji, pray he doesn't find you.

Go into Try mode and practice landing shots after time trap. Timing is always the same, and with the staggered windups you can have both hit at the same time.

For time traps, you want to use Dragon's Breath when the circle is a quarter depleted, and sandblasts at half I believe.

Always have a time trap out. Don't solo lane. Get good at predicting enemy movements. Make the enemy pick between getting hit with some sand or wasting time running serpentine patterns if they want to get anywhere. Use your ult to create a no-man's land to prevent the enemy from approaching you or retreating depending on the situation. You want to be so far away from the action that diving you requires getting out of range of their own support. If someone dives on you, you have three choices:

1) Lead them into a time trap (which you have out, right?) and then combo the poo poo out of them.
2) Alt-W while running away (they'll end up in the middle of it) and hit them with a Q. This might not be enough to kill them, but it should be enough to get them to back off if your team is in striking distance (unless they're going for a 1-for-1 trade, in which case  ).
3) Ok, bye.
