Anybody got a chance to check out the new Hunting Party scenario? I'm headed up to the Gladiator Games ITS tourney in Salt Lake and its on the list. I've been kinda tired of the same-old ITS scenarios, but this one looks like a blast to play.

Here's the basic rundown:
Two points for flipping antennas
Two points for hunting down more specialists
Three points for hunting down the same # of LT's than you the opponent
Four points for hunting down more LT's than your opponent
Two points for two separate classifieds

"Hunting Down" is having an enemy specialist or LT end the game in Isolated or Immobilized states. Every model with a pistol gets a bonus stun pistol, every Veteran/Elite/HQ troop gets a bonus adhesive launcher. You have to place your LTs on the board from the start of the game, and every LT is declared no matter the state they deploy in. No loss of lieutenant.

I'm bringing Caledonians to the tourney because I hate myself and want a change of pace, and I was initially pretty worried. Consider that Immob-1 can be Reset out of, meaning that the turn 2 player in this scenario is going to have a huge advantage, what with the opportunity to Reset or Engineer their Immob/Isolated models. This doesn't really mesh well with Scot-strat of ALWAYS GOING FIRST.

But then I remembered that you can use pistols in melee, so each and every one my highlanders is a dogged, regular, smoke-chucking, beserk immobilizer. Doesn't matter if don't get the final word when I can just plop a highlander onto every enemy specialist and taze them through every Reset attempt! Close combat also has the benefit of blocking external LoF, so Immob-1'd models can't just catch a model across the map and Reset out.

tl;dr - Anyone got any thoughts on how to play Hunting Party?

I played it last night, Bakunin vs vanilla Aleph. I ran a haris of two Moiras and a Rev. Healer, a bunch of zeroes, and some other junk. The most important thing in the game was the adhesive launchers. They are the quickest, most fool-proof way to lock people down. My MO was to glue gun with the moiras (with ODD) and surprise stun pistol with the zeroes.

I don't know Caledonia very well but I would think a Mormaer team would be the best:

Not a bad idea at all. I might throw in the optional Grey Rifle for smoke, but you're right - linked Adhesive Launchers are gonna dominate.

Sj. Pick CA/Onyx if you want an elite force of mostly robots with some great special rules but lacking a very key one; smoke. Onyx has wicked TAGs and excels at sniping people at long range. I love playing them because I love using remotes and hacking stuff and the Xeodron Haris is savage.

Tohaa have a smaller army pool than the other factions but have the huge upside of having basically nearly infinite combo potential with the triads and having basically every good special rule in the game whilst being a bit under costed for what they get. Kaeltar are horseshit so run 2 every single game before they get nerfed.

So, as part of a narrative escalation league we are doing an interesting rule was added: you can take any LT option that is not a named character and spend 6xp worth of spec ops points on them. It is optional to do so, but if you do they will be a persistent character for the campaign who can get bonuses and have other stuff happen with them. The only problem is that it becomes painfully obvious who your LT is.

What I am thinking of using is: Zhanying Imperial Agent w HMG lt profile and give it super jump and hacking.

Lol. I think this pretty clearly demonstrates that Infinity is a tightly written waragame which lends itself to competitive play; probably not the place for RPG-style 'design-your-own-character' stuff.

There are some restrictions on it that I forgot to mention in my post to prevent stuff like that. It has to be 30pts or less for one, and you cannot give it more than 1 specialist ability, and you cannot give it a specialist ability +mimitism.

Has anyone shopped Zen Terrain at all? I'm this close to buying some stuff from them but their FB page hasn't had any updates since like July. They've got recent reviews though and their stuff (especially the buildings with interiors) look fantastic.

High-grit sand-paper. If you get the stuff that's already black/dark gray and give it a heavy dry-brush of a lighter gray, it looks like concrete.

If you want more of an asphalt texture, filling spackle works well. It what I used on these Aetherium Riot Grrls:
