RIP Harry Dean Stanton. What a loving career, though. So glad he was in The Return.

I was NOT prepared for this news. Glad he lived a good long life, got to be in The Return, and (apparently, not seeing it until the London Film Festival next month) gave one of his all-time great performances in Lucky.

Wow, that's just terrible news. Harry Dean Stanton was so awesome. As much as I love him in Lynch's stuff, I think his best picture is Paris, Texas. He's got such an amazing and diverse catalog of work though. Take your pick.

Oh man! That is so freaking sad, talk about there being some sort of death curse on this show But yeah, Harry Dean lived to a fine old age and had a magnificent career as among the finest character actors in the industry, far as I'm concerned. I've also always felt that he has one of the most perfect craggy/weirdly handsome faces ever, even as a very old man - especially as an old man. I actually feel like it was kind of a pleasure to watch him exit stage left after this appearance... That clip of him doing Red River Valley is incredible. I'll see you at the curtain call, HDS

Has anyone noticed the seemingly incongruous red reflection in the puddle in the scene at the Dutchman's? I could be wrong but it doesn't seem to move naturally with the scene, like it was intentionally masked in. I wonder if this is a hint about the nature of the Roadhouse. also rip HDS

EDIT: Apologies. I'll come back to Season 3 again after I've boned up on my Lynch a little more. Hopefully a re-watch and some hindsight will make things a little clearer.

Stuff like the decorations in the motel room and the car models indicates that there is something going on time-wise before he even meets "alternative" Laura.
