To be honest, once I got gold on all the bonus stages, I just used them to cancel the Super Sonic transformation and conserve rings if I picked up a shield while transformed (unless it was a lightning shield as that makes keeping rings high far easier). If you do decide to do the scummy stage select chaos ring thing, the Oil Ocean is the easiest to get to. Just get to the first fire shield after one of the green pipe launching platforms, stay in the same position as the box, fall to the oil below, head right while in the oil to some fans, then use them to go up and to the left and the ring is there. If you get the emerald, you don't need to finish the stage. You can just quit out of it and repeat. In my opinion, the fifth and sixth ones are the hardest. Seventh is pretty easy if you know the route. Cutting corners in the stages helps shave distance between you and the UFO as well. Also, a couple of things for you. Firstly, all three of the Sonic 3 shields will make a LOT of projectiles bounce off them. This includes Buzz Bomber, the seahorses and octopuses/octopi/whatever in Oil Ocean, the exploding rock things in Lava Reef, and more, so a lot of enemies aren't too dangerous when you have them. The Sonic 1/2 shield doesn't do this and aside from taking one hit of damage is pretty much useless compared to the others. Fire shield in Lava Reef still makes you nigh on un-killable. You can walk on lava safely, go through flame jets and lava eruptions, and generally be safe from any fire or hot surface. And yes, Titanic Monarch is on Little Planet. Remember the giant Eggman building you were wondering about at the end of Stardust Speedway 2? There's your answer. Finally, read this only after you've beaten the true final boss. Go back and watch the Sonic Forces E3 trailer again and tell me what you hear.

Hey guys -- it's been a little over a week since we finished up Sonic Mania... We had initially planned to put at least one if not two games between Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces, and recorded four episodes of our next game... except the video ended up wildly corrupted and was essentially unusable. Because of the nature of the game, and the complications with scheduling people lately, we wouldn't have been able to put out a second attempt until at least tomorrow if not later, and with Sonic Forces coming out two weeks from today, I made the call and decided we should just be patient and take a breather instead of just jamming something else in at the buzzer. Sonic Forces will begin on November 8, and The Super Sonic Let's Play will continue from there without any major breaks again. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your patience, guys.

The flashing transparent capsules you were wondering about in the second video are other Wisp powers that unlock as you progress through the game, though you can only use the Wisp that corresponds to your currently equipped gun (you just got a new one at the end of the most recent video for example). I assume you'll be covering Episode Shadow at some point in this playthrough as well eventually?

Okay, so we're taking a second crack at Emerald Coast, but... is every emulated version of Sonic Shuffle this weird and glitchy, when it comes to the game text? We wanted to do the real version but were having trouble getting the video to pass to our recording equipment successfully, but this is like... egregious. The text being all hosed up is probably some kind of memory addressing shortcut that might be loving up on a 64 bit system?
