I only owned a couple Switch games so I decided to trade them in and go all-digital. I think that's the smarter thing going ahead.

It helps that I feel way more secure with the Switch's online infrastructure than the 3DS's- some days I wish I'd gone physical with that, I have one of those Majora's Mask collector systems with close to $1000 worth of games on it (counting all those free Nintendo Club games) and I'm kind of afraid to take it anywhere in case something happens.

write down the serial number on the sticker on the back and Nintendo will let you recover your digital stuff if you lose it. your saves will still be hosed tho unfortunately and there's no way to back those up and import them on a different console

Can you not copy your save files from your sd card onto your computer and have them work later? I know the 3ds lets you back up your saves onto your sd card, it would be kinda lame if they didnt work on a new 3ds though.

It is kind of lame but yeah that's how it works, it's locked to your hardware. Doing a proper system transfer is the only way to make it work on a different 3DS

Picross is sublime. It's just the perfect amount of polish on the menus/sounds to make you feel like you're getting a premium experience even though it's just simple picture puzzles. I have a feeling I'm gonna burn through all of them in a couple days but it's totally worth it if you're into relaxing puzzle games.
