Mabel looks like a very very good girl and Ruby looks pretty nice too. When I was a kid my friend's dog had a best friend who used to call for him every morning; he'd just stand and wait outside the door until someone noticed him and let their dog out, then the two of them would go off and play on the beach for most of the day :3:

It's 100 percent down to socialization. The bigger issue is generally that cats don't understand rabbit territorial behavior, and cats like to play rough in a way that can stress rabbits.
