I like the male OC because he's as close as we are going to get to having Dingo Egreet in a SRW.

drat V is good. The art is good, the battle animations are good, and I'm loving the story. I love how simple and straightforward things are. I love the chemistry all the characters have right off the bat. I'm only on mission 4 but I'm totally hooked. This is one of the few games where I find myself saying 'as soon as I'm done I'm definitely going to play again to see all the routes' I wonder if it's going to be a stand-alone or if the next one they do will be V2. Is it too much to hope that the next one will be on the Vita too?

So apparently WB and the producer of It are going to do a movie based off the relatively unknown in the US property, Ma.K(also known as Maschinen Krieger) Which is completely out of nowhere

If it's not cheap stop motion of the models, it's not real Maschinen Kriger.

Yeah, that's Asian English release material right now. With all the weird cross-overs in it there's probably zero chance it gets a stateside release but I'd definitely wager it getting an Asian English release.

Wouldn't an English release have been announced already though? Like IIRC the SRWV English version was announced right as the game itself was officially announced.

# ? Sep 21, 2017 17:22 |

Asian English releases typically don't get announced on the same day and date of a Japanese release. Bandai Namco's been doing a pretty good job at accelerating the process in the past year with announcing them a month or two after the Japanese version. I have no idea where City Shrouded in Shadow would lie for them because Granzella isn't one of their own studios, so I don't know if Bamco has their own Asian studios fired up and going with them yet.

I've only completed the first two games, fiddled a bit with the third, and am patiently waiting for 4 Plus to come out (probably on the back burner until they finish City) but I can say that they're definitely interesting enough games to try. They're not terribly long and have some interesting enough survival puzzles. The first two games really epitomize that long gone era of PS2 "just make anything" kind of game.

In a bit of sad news, apparently during Sega's TGS stream the Virtual-On producer revealed that A Certain Magical Virtual-On was planned to get a PS4 version of the Virtual-On twin sticks, but (if I'm reading the Google Translate right) the manufacturers discarded the original molds for them and the time it would take to create new molds and manufacture new sticks would have them release well past the game's release date.

How much of the Asian English, but not official American release for games like Gundam Breaker 3/SRW V is tied to getting around complex licensing for an American audience? Is that a thing, or is it a genuine lack of demand deal?

I imagine the licensing is indeed an issue, there's a long standing rumor that we almost got the Dreamcast version of Alpha brought over but it got torpedoed by Harmony Gold being greedy pricks due to Macross being in it Also the commonly held thought that they were contemplating bringing over W since most of its roster was licensed in the states at the time and a lot of it well known here as well(and Go Lion is in many respects the most obscure series they've included from a Japanese perspective, while as Lion Voltron it's one of the most famous giant robots period)
