Okay launching a missile over Tweak's house was a nice touch, and the Garrison/Trump tweets are good.

The bumper car distracted driving hit home because I was at a go-kart place on Saturday and a kid forgot the brake pedal existed coming back to the pit area and pinballed off a bunch of stopped cars.

drat, that was a good episode of the South Park. Top quality all the way through IMO. The Cartman raps were pretty funny and well written and deserve plenty of respect for nailing that in voice. SLICK GOKU BABY fucked around with this message at 05:50 on Sep 21, 2017 |

Smash cut to them all laughing at Cartman's suicide threats was . Garrison's escalating tweets were pretty great too. And the rap songs were beautiful. A Plot and B Plot came together pretty drat nicely this week. SLICK GOKU BABY posted:The Cartman raps were pretty funny and well written and deserve plenty of respect for nailing that in voice. That was just about the perfect balance of "kids just being kids" and current events/politics. Of course, the single biggest laugh was Hillary Clinton popping up during the song and the kids singing "no one cares". Though I'm sure a bunch of people, reviewers mostly, are gonna get butthurt about that and accuse them of being alt-right or whatever. I'm just now realizing that there might actually be a layer of meta-commentary about the show buried beneath the actual plots, although they hid it pretty well so it wasn't distracting. Tweek is a stand-in for everyone wondering how Trey & Matt could possibly ignore Trump, and Craig is them trying their best to focus on other things. In the end they realize they kind of have to address it, because it's a real concern that a lot of people have. But they try to find a constructive way to do it. In the end they still blame the one causing the concerns, rather than blaming people for caring too much.

Looks like they are back on track with the season 18 idea to do a semi-serialized format. Best way to deal with nowadays' America. Amazing Cartman rap by the way.
|
# ? Sep 21, 2017 14:30 |
|
Yeah. I mean, this doesn't seem any more serialized than "Stan likes Wendy" back from the old seasons. Relationships and character traits stay consistent, but the plot doesn't shift too much. We aren't going to have every character hiding in a North Korea proof bunker while Randy renovates it to be more of an open concept hiding place.

Yeah it's kind of amazing that these guys are just one award away from a full EGOT but only got there on the backs of killing a little boy while Isaac Hayes sang about his dick for like 10 years. My favorite Trey & Matt moment is an interview where they talks about when Book of Mormon was up against Spider-Man for a Grammy and he was like "gently caress first Phil Collins takes my Oscar for best soundtrack and now I'm gonna lose my Grammy to Bono, ugh, this is what happens when you let rockers into the THEATRE!" edit: for correct white guy Bust Rodd fucked around with this message at 15:53 on Sep 21, 2017 |
