Yeah, I think the muggers just use the names and vocabulary of the people they've stolen for convenience, but that's all. Trixie's mugger isn't advocating socialism because it believes in it -- it's advocating socialism because it has access to Trixie's knowledge of political theory and knows how to use it to bring down a tyrant.

Well, the mind mugger that controlled him said the same things, but we've seen Mind Muggers are perfectly capable of lying, so that doesn't actually tell us much. My favorite scenario is that he believes these things, but he's actually just crazy and the place doesn't exist.
