the best dnc email was the one that included a 50-page attachment that was just grafs from her paid speeches that the campaign considered problematic, broken out by oligarch she was praising.

Clinton: “The Simpson-Bowles Framework And The Big Elements Of It Were Right… You Have To Restrain Spending, You Have To Have Adequate Revenues, And You Have To Have Growth.” CLINTON: So, you know, the Simpson-Bowles framework and the big elements of it were right. The specifics can be negotiated and argued over. But you got to do all three. You have to restrain spending, you have to have adequate revenues, and you have to have growth. And I think we are smart enough to figure out how to do that. [Clinton Speech For Morgan Stanley, 4/18/13]

you're wrong; if there's a particular accusation against someone then it's pro forma to ask for comment on the accusation, but it's not pro forma (and it's against journalism codes of ethics) to send an entire piece to have it vetted by a campaign.

Considering family deductibles on most of the plans I looked at were $13.5k i fully expect tin plans to be over 25k/year. So a big surgery on new year's eve could result in a $50k bill without including the cost of premiums.

"let our campaign review your story before you publish it" isn't bog standard stuff between the media and the people talking to the media.

it's not really unusual at all. i'd say it's pretty fair to let the subject of a story see and comment on a story before it goes out, especially if they're a source on the story and have an interest in making sure the story portrays what they said accurately. say for example you had DWS talk to a journalist - it's fair to ask if you can check the article before it goes out since the journalist might misquote her, or at least as a polite heads up that they are going to get a poo poo storm thrown their way because she said something bad. or if i spent like an hour with a journalist providing info on background that they then used in the story, they might want to check with me to make sure they got all the facts right before it goes out. i also don't see a problem with a campaign getting a chance to either comment or ask for corrections in the story. i think when you see stuff like what reines did - something he's infamous for, of course - that is obviously over the line and journalists should never agree to those terms, although i doubt any campaign on earth would ever miss the opportunity to use a journalist that flexible if they could. the key thing is whether it's transactional.

My position is:

a. The DNC isn't actually capable of rigging a small-town beauty contest, let alone a statewide primary, let alone fifty of them.

b. There are other ways for a pervasive institutional bias in favor of a specific candidate to manifest than full-on rigging, and that's not the sort of thing people will easily forgive when it comes out.
You'd have to define rigging as such biases can make the contest results favor the establishment candidate unfairly, which many colloquially call 'rigging'

Did the DNC have it's hands directly in each result manipulating the final tally? No
Did the DNC use it's influence to apparently have bias of one candidate, essentially harming the exposure of other candidates, and do it purposefully with intent? That's what is being argued.

One could say the DNC Emails were a sign of their bias, and such bias would lead to many many actions that would acculmulate over time.

One could say the rejection of Nina Turner with donuts is one such bias, continuing beyond the primaries and is just status quo reaction to the things the establishment democrats don't like.

Is it legal for them to be biased? It's not allowed to be openly biased according to their own rules for people who hold positions.
Tulsi (2nd in command at the time), biased, endorsed sanders, and quit her position to do so.
DWS (1st in command at the time) biased, did not specifically state "I endorse hillary" thus :airquote: ""unbiased"", did not quit and immediately after getting done due to appearing biased re-enforces assumption of bias by getting a super comfy position on Hillary's campaign for prestige.
